Dr.Lozza ,

Colour blindness

Great idea and want to support. However it relies on normal colour perception and I, along with 3% of the population have a defect. In my case between red and green. Perhaps people like myself need to be screened out and offered an alternative option or colours. Otherwise this introduces a bias in the analysis.

Developer Response ,

Hi Dr.Lozza, we appreciate your feedback. We have made major updates to the app, meaning you are now able to access a more comprehensive brain screening, a detailed breakdown of your results, and a personalised care plan to help boost your brain health. The latest version of the app allows you to select if you have colour-perception difficulties, though some scores will be unavailable if you do so. We are working on an alternative to the colour-based task, though we do not currently have a timeline for this. We want to ensure any alternative we use in the app is validated to the same clinical standards to accurately screen your brain health. In the meantime, we welcome any further feedback you may have on the latest version of the app - your brain health is scored across 15 different domains, of which only 2 are currently impacted by the colour-based task. Thank you for your review!

Dr Magic J ,

Paediatric NHS consultant London

I downloaded this app and was really worried about my memory and health. At the age of 70 I found it really easy to follow through and the results really gave me reassurance! I immediately got my years subscription as ive been looking for a clinically evidenced guide to keep my brain ticking along but also regularly show me how well im doing! With a medical background I have been pretty reassured and good job to the medics who made this whoever you are.

I honestly will be getting my colleagues on this app next week and wish those younger get on this now as it seems the younger you start the better your brain can be protected!

Developer Response ,

Hi Dr Magic J,
Thanks for taking the time to review - we're really pleased to hear that you're enjoying the app and getting value from it! Our medical team have worked hard to develop care videos that use evidence-based techniques to keep your brain and mental health in good shape, so we hope you continue to enjoy the screenings, detailed results and personalised care plans Mindstep has to offer!

Went off

Was completing the tasks in the app when it got to the balloon task when it asked for camera facility and to go to settings which I did and turned on camera but then I couldn’t get back to balloon task because the app had gone off. Went back into app but it wanted me to start from beginning again . Was good up to then but still a few flaws as should he able to start from where left off.

Developer Response ,

Hi carer dem, we're sorry to hear you encountered some difficulties with the balloon task. In our most recent app update we've removed this task, and now have a more extensive offering including a comprehensive brain screening, a detailed breakdown of your results and a personalised care plan to help boost your brain health. We've also updated the app so that if it's backgrounded during the screening, it returns to the same section that was previously open. Be sure to check it out!
