Yesterday, I was ordering a Mother’s Day card. I chose one, personalised it and completed it, adding it to my basket. I entered my Mum’s name and address then a pop-up asked me if I wanted to enter her birthday so they could remind me about it- I decided to go so- then another pop-up asked if I wanted reminded about Mother’s Day next year- again, I selected yes. Then it told me something had gone wrong. I tried to look in my basket but there were only faint pink squares and no text so I began the whole process again. When I’d finished the second card, my Mum’s address was already in my contacts but throughout the process it still indicated that there was nothing in my basket. When I got to the checkout, it had already scrolled down to the total amount due and payment methods- it seemed liked too much! I scrolled up only to find that BOTH the first (the one that had disappeared!) AND the second card were in my basket. I deleted one and only paid for one but just be careful- my sister said the app had been playing up a bit for her, too. It may just be that there is so much traffic as lots of people are ordering cards for Mother’s Day cards BUT MAJE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE PAYING!

I have used moon pig a few times and the templates for cards and the personalisation is lovely. Once you design your card, confirm the size you want and any extras offered are calculated you are then offered a date to have the card delivered, here is where the problems begin. They rely on Royal Mail who on 2 occasions now have not been able to honour the delivery date requested for delivery. My wife’s birthday card was supposed to arrive a day early to go along with the other bits purchased for her, but the delivery was delayed with no apologies, all attempts to speak to customer services were useless as you issues are managed by an AI that is very dismissive. There is literally no one to hear your concerns and the instructions shared are to wait till the end of the day and if your card is not delivered you should contact them then. For the amount of money spent on these cards/ gifts, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Moon Pig please let me know when you start using another delivery service and improve your customer service experience then you can have my business back, but till then I will be using other services thank you very much. My current rating would be 3 starts as the cards are customised well and it’s good to have the option of sizes. Your customer services engagement has a lot to be desired and let’s down the rest of the service, but nothing as bad as you delivery partner who can’t get the packages delivered on time, that reflects badly on you.

I know Moonpig is a popular site but there are so many other sites operating the same way. Contacting customer service is OK but their replies tend to be a little slow once you get through as if they're dealing with a couple of other people as well as you so you don't feel as though you have their undivided attention. I know that when you add reminders, after ordering 3 you will receive notification to say you have a free card. Of all the years I've been with them this has never happened and I've mentioned it time after time. Only on one occasion did my card NOT arrive in time and that was during lockdown so I'm grateful for that. The cards are good quality and I like the fact you can add a handwritten note too. I gave it 4* because when you've finished the card and pay for it it no longer allows you to edit it. You used to get at least an hour or so in which to do this but I've tried several times even sending an email as I panicked but no one got back to be. To be fair to Moonpigthough the refunded me one I contacted customer service the next day.

I’m reviewing as someone who uses moonpig and also someone who has received in the last week. I love the individuality and personalisation that moonpig offers. Always pleased with this.This week however I received a lovely card from a friend with an add on of a sweet ‘selection’ I have to say I was disappointed on my friends behalf. I know how much these things cost - and to say it’s a selection of sweets is a bit much. If you love marshmallows - great. If you’re hoping for more of the sweets strategically placed on the outside of the clear vessel - so it looks like you have some more of an assortment - then you’ll be disappointed as we were. A load of marshmallows (which are cheap to buy tbh) and a handful or less of shrimps, flumps and not anything else. Don’t waste your money on this add on. Buy a pick and mix or make one yourself - far better! If you’re sending and can’t make up yourself - choose an alternative add on gift in our opinion. (But we were so grateful for the gesture from a friend!)
