MyMMU - Mobile 17+

Looks great and was probably helpful to new students. The library facility is great but the course area doesn't show up relevant details for staff on postgraduate courses. Needs access to WebCT announcements and other parts of myMMU. As a tutor I'd like to be able to send announcements from my phone. Look forward to version 2

What’s the point? Half the items in this ‘app’ redirect to external Safari browser pages, forcing you to log in again.

There’s a bunch of buttons on the heavily cluttered page that don’t apply to my course and link to a page that says ‘this doesn’t apply to your course’. Why are they there in the first place?

Once you’re in the app, most sections seem to require you to sign in *again*, and *again*, and *again* to use.

It’s systems like this that remind you that some academics have had no real world experience. It’s beyond useless - in nearly every way, significantly worse than even Moodle in a web browser - but you can see it’s fulfilled some glacial committee’s box ticking demands somewhere.

Over the summer the app has made a serious improvement! Students can now access their Moodle pages which we weren't able to do before the update. This means we don't have to trail through an Internet browser to get the information we want. The staff directory is very useful as well.
In all fairness the map doesn't look too great and wouldn't really think about using it.
There is still a lot more the app could do but I think best to see how the latest update runs once term begins.
