Great app but……

Love the app, easy to navigate and use the one thing that would make it better would be to have the ability to add it to my iPhone widget screen for quicker access. Please make this happen

Developer Response ,

Hi there, Thankyou for reviewing our app, we really appreciate you doing so , and yes great idea.. I will put it forward to the app development team when I meet with them later this week. Thankyou for that. Very best regards, Signia UK Tech Team

**UPDATE** Apple are reintroducing basic controls for Signia Aids in iOS 18. please drop us a line at techteam.uk@signia-hearing.com if you need more information.

**FURTHER UPDATE ** Please see the email content I have just sent out internally - FYI...

Hi everyone,

Further to my recent email regarding Apple supporting our aids once more on Apple watches (6 and newer) they have updated their Watch OS once more, and the setup for our hearing aids has changed..

Go to Settings.
Go to Accessibility.
Go to Accessibility Shortcut
Tick Hearing Devices
Exit Settings

Now whenever a user triple clicks the crown they have easy access to program and volume change.

Bluetooth switching is a nightmare

Please explain the Bluetooth switching problems: I have tried to use the app with my specsavers ‘Signia AX’ aids to connect to three Apple devices that I use constantly for work. Two iPhones, one iPad, each with the app installed. I know that my hearing aids can only Bluetooth to one at a time, with narrow Bluetooth protocol. I know I must turn off the Bluetooth to one to be able to the. Use it with another. However, the iPad appears to be dominant : if I switch the ipad Bluetooth connection off on your app, to try to the use Bluetooth with aids on my iPhone, the aids will still revert to picking up sound from the iPad. So, can’t have iPad playing music/video through its own loudspeakers for everyone to listen to, while I try to choose to have my phone connected to my aids via my remote Bluetooth. The iPad bluetooth switches back on, takes over, switches iPad soimd into my aids, muting the iPad sound for everyone else. Many attempts to keep iPad and aids separate, it reverts every time.

Also, once the Bluetooth on/off slider on any device has been switched on or off once or twice, it becomes inactive and won’t respond at all. Impossible to choose a device to replace another because the slider on-off is disabled.

Multiple attempts to power down and back on again each device, switch the my remote app on/off, remove it/reinstall it on each device, turning phones/iPad completely off and back on. - a total nightmare.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, You have emailed us separately and the issues you are having are due to the way Bluetooth is implemented in Apples iOS, and based on the development of Bluetooth by Ericson some years ago. We have recommended the best switch over methodology for multiple devices, noting our aids fully conform to Apples requirements for MFI devices.. Very best regards, Signia UK Tech Team

Worst app I have used for hearing aids

I have read many of the other reviews. The main fault it seems that if the aids loose bonding with the phone ie moving to another room that they don’t look for the phone again even when within close proximity of one another. It is totally impractical to to keep them together all the time like wise to turn the aids on and off reboot the phone or open and close the app to force it to re connect. This iPhone has the latest operating system and the aids are Specsavers Advanced. I have another issue with the app, the audiologist contacted Signia who passed the buck to blame Apple who I am sure didn’t design the app.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, I am sorry things are not as you expect. The phone app is not involved in the streaming, but control of your hearing aid features. If you remove the phone app from your phone you will find that streaming is still available demonstrating that it is the phone that performs the streaming. Your aids should reconnect when your phone comes back into range, assuming they are not paired to any other device in range, but if they do not then you may need to blip the Bluetooth off on the pine and then back on an the phone will renegotiate the connection. I hope this information helps. Very best regards, Signia UK Tech Team
