The app is really good. Easy to use and understand. I had a diagnosis sent to me 2 days after uploading my photos and the doctor prescribed me some medication. This is where my problem started. The clinic had a wrong address on my clinic letter, despite me inputting the correct address in the app. I rang them straight away and they were quite helpful and said they would change it. Over the next 3 weeks I didn’t receive my prescription even though I rang the clinic multiple times for updates. They apparently sent out 2 or 3 prescriptions to the wrong address. It wasn’t until I told them I would ask for a refund if I did not receive my prescription in the next 3 days and it magically appeared 2 days later. 5 stars for the app, 1 star for the actual service!

I am not sure this app is appropriate for diagnosing skin problems - I don’t believe that a diagnosis on the basis of a picture is in a patients best interest - it’s all very, very remote and there is no opportunity to discuss the condition with anyone - and someone if going to give me a diagnosis and treatment plan on the basis of a few pictures - the quality of which isn’t great - really ??? Has the nhs come to this ? What with the challenge of trying to get an appt to see an actual GP and now remote diagnosis via pictures, it makes you wonder just how many doctors there actually are and what they do ?? It seems a bit crazy tbh … but I guess it’s what it is .. all a bit sad really - seeing an actual doctor always seemed like Something you would be able to do when you had a medical issue and needed help. 🤒🥺This service was not offered to me as an “option” as far as I am aware, I would prefer to actually see a doctor/consultant toDiscuss my health issue - not do it remotely …

I was really impressed with the service. Innovative idea and time saving. Went through the app. The feedback came through as expected and treatment was prescribed. I had to chase to find out where my prescription was and it was sorted after a week. I had my face to face meeting follow up and treatment was discussed. I had to make contact after a blood test to ask them to prescribe and begin the treatment. That was five weeks ago. I have emailed, very politely, seven times over that period now and only just got a single response last week to say they have forwarded my email on. When you phone you are given a recorded message and told to email only. Got my ‘forwarded on’ email last week and still had no response. Over the last six weeks I have not been on any treatment at all - as all was stopped when referred to MySkinDoctor. My skin has now flared up to a worse state than before and I am left with no option other than to start again and see my GP. Such a shame. If they only shared they were an initial response service only, my expectations wouldn’t have been so high. I’m not a review writer - but I’m unable to communicate any other way.

After paying privately for this service, I received a diagnosis very quickly, which was fantastic. I had to additionally pay to receive the prescribed treatment, but I didn’t mind, because if the diagnosis is correct, surely this treatment will work? No, I’m now hugely out of pocket and still at square one with my skin condition. After taking the antibiotics and using the skin cream, my condition actually got worse, and I mean substantially worse. Contacted MySkinDoctor: not only did they tell me to keep using a regimen which clearly didn’t work (and thus the diagnosis is also likely wrong), but go and see a dermatologist in person for a second opinion! I chose this service specifically so I wouldn’t have to! Absolute joke, don’t bother - save your money and wait for the NHS instead, at least your taxes already pay for it.
