Disappointed

After using connected apps from multiple manufacturers I was expecting the Toyota version to be equally useful. Sadly no.
A service carried out at a Toyota dealer did not show in the app giving me the message that a service was overdue. The dealer contacted Toyota and after about 1 month the service shows on the app but it also still shows a service overdue warning. Part of the capabilities of the app I was told about was being able to set basic climate functions but that has never been there for me.
I can see if the car is locked but I cannot remotely lock or unlock the car.
As my teachers often said at school “could do better”

Problems Seem to be Sorted

I think the issues below were related to the old car not being removed - I removed it but it still seemed to be there. I deleted the app, reinstalled - saw the old car still there - deleted it again and now everything seems fine. I love being able to warm the car before getting in. Will email if I get further issues. Thanks. Gutting - just got our new Carolla to replace our previous Carola and told to get new app. Everyday - I have to confirm the mileage to be able to use it … today it just crashed and crashed (think this might be an issue with face recognition btw). Excited for the new functionality to put the heating on before getting in the car … a dream come true .. but if I have to go to the car to input the mileage Or the app just crashes … what is the point? Had random messages that the doors are unlocked - the car is on my drive - I can see it has no doors open - it’s locked with the wing mirrors folded just as I have left it. What testing has been done? .. what customer experience analysis? For the biggest car manufacturer in the world - this is just not good enough. To top it all .. just had a message that I have no control because someone else has - probably my husband … worst app I have ever ever had the misfortune to HAVE to use.

It would be also helpful if you could describe a problem/error you encountered during activation. Missing features - Updated

Installed the app after getting an email. I have no remote services, some connected services missing. Contacted MyToyota over a week ago and still waiting for a reply. Luckily the old app still working.
Update - MyToyota must have looked at my issue because I now have remote services. The connected services is still missing ’send to car’ but this never worked on the old app with the Toyota connect system so maybe they have dropped it. The hybrid coaching is presented better but you don’t get any explanation of the red and green symbols on the map with regards to braking and acceleration like you could on the old app. There is also no way of downloading a report of your trips. Maybe this will be rectified in a future update. Also still getting missing trips as in the old app. I think the new app is clearer. Upgraded the app to 4 stars.
