Simple and brilliant
Still my go-to calculator after many years. I’ve bought Calzy and all the other gimmicky calculator apps but I keep coming back to this time after time. It’s so simple and just works.
Fast but could easily be improved
In many instances, the excellent "no equals" algebraic logic employed in this calculator sees it approach RPN efficiency, meaning that for basic calculation, this can be a great performer.
The appearance can be tweaked to personal taste and the display of previous equations and results is very handy - although I have experienced a strange bug whereby the last calculation displayed refused to clear until I found a way to trick it (by ignoring it, getting more calculations into the list and then deleting the lot).
But there are negatives in terms of wasted potential. Several keys are essentially redundant. For instance, why three keys for parentheses but no 1/x key (reciprocal)? Why two separate keys for division instead of providing any other basic function such as '+/-', for instance? And why bother with the infinity key at all? In lieu of the above, surely the key-pad can include a little more functionality?
The best thing about this calculator is that for one which uses algebraic logic, in many instances it can match the speed of Reverse Polish Notation (also not using a '=' key) but for many who may not like to make the adjustment to RPN, the sheer speed of this app will be impressive.
Once you understand this calculator it is so much better than apple’s
Took me a little while to learn but this calculator is much more intuitive than apple’s
Not having an equals button seems like a bad idea but actually makes everything so much easier
I also love being able to see my history of calculations and tapping into them and changing them
I use this several times a day and love it!
