Amazing app for any workshop
geekmoose
This app is amazing when running any type of workshop or training. Will capture and group notes, straighten them, and allow you to save as a PowerPoint which you can then use to group themes. Best use was in a course over three weeks - I captured the parked questions from the sessions, and put them in my slides, and went over them at the end of the last session - a member of the group who is a teacher gasped when she saw them.
So close to being the perfect app…

I really want to love this app. Having always come back to (physical) post-it notes after trying countless other note-taking apps over the years, this along with Apple Pencil feels like it 'gets' my way of thinking and particularly how I arrange thoughts spatially with the use of post-its. It's so, so close to being a perfect app for organising thought. There are a few niggles though that I find frustrating and stop me using it every day as my main notes app (Obsidian still tops my list currently):• A lot of friction would be removed if there was a way to move post-its around with a straight 'drag', rather than a tap-hold-drag. Moving notes for me is much more of a primary action than panning the board. This freedom to constantly re-arrange is the 'killer feature' of post-its generally and I don't feel it's translating well to the app currently. Alternatively an option to separate out a single finger tap/drag (to move) and a double finger tap/drag (to pan/zoom) would be welcome.• I prefer the 'free arrangement' mode and as such I don't really understand the need for 'groups' within boards, as I'm grouping things spatially myself. I find I always end up with a lot of empty groups (Group A, B, C etc) where I've accidentally made a note outside of the one group I'm using. It also feels weird that there's always a grey 'group selection' around the board I'm working on. The ability to turn off groups for a board would be amazing.• Finally it would be great to be able to draw on the notes in place without going into a completely new 'edit' view to do so, and to make a new note in the exact position I want it (not in the far corner of my screen). With those niggles aside, it's a great app and really has potential. But unfortunately they are strong enough frustrations to prevent it being an 'essential' tool in my workflow just yet. I look forward to seeing how this app matures over time as developers refine the experience.
What happened in the last update?!
ServersDownAgain
This app used to be fantastic, and the implementation of the widget was perfect. However, in the last update, the virtual ‘post-it’ note is now inside an outer box, rather than filling tge entire widget. It previously looked great, and almost as if you literally had a note on the screen, and it distinguished itself from other apps. It now looks amateurish, and like every other app. I honestly can’t believe you guys thought this would look better?! Please, for the love of god, good design and common sense, at least give us the option of having the ‘old’ widget in the settings?…
Developer Response
