Description

By adding their car registration in the app, Season Ticket holders at PaSS car parks will be able to enter and exit by having their number plate scanned at the barrier. PaSS is only live at selected Q-Park car parks.

It is important that you create your MyQ-Park account before registering on the app or your Season Ticket will not link correctly with your vehicles car registration and you will not be able to enter and exit the car park using your number plate.

How to register your number plate
1. Activate your My Q-Park Account on the Q-Park website. When you purchased your Season Ticket, you will have received an email prompting you to activate your account
2. Download the Q-Park app
3. Login using your My Q-Park Account Email and Password
4. Enter your car registration

After completing the above steps, the barrier will automatically open when you drive in or out of your home car park. The Q-Park app has been developed to further enhance the parking experience for our Season Ticket holders.

Buggy software and no parking discounts

In general, I have been disappointed with the app. Whilst it was easy to install, set up an account, each time I use the app, I have had issues.
Firstly, the app failed to register my departure on one parking experience, and on the second usage, it has not shown me arriving! Plus it is the most expensive way of parking, no discounts at all I offered or applied to the app.
Whilst it is convenient to come and go without any money involved at the transaction, to pay a lot more for parking is not really expected. I suspect I will delete my account. Sorry not to be more positive, what I believe would’ve been an excellent idea.

Absolutely awful……. Do not use!!!!!!!

Absolutely awful customer service……. DO NOT USE THEM OR THEIR APP! I recently fell foul of their “small print” that let’s face it does anyone have time to read it?!!! I had the app downloaded and set up for auto pay. I used this once and it was absolutely fine however some 7 months later I sell my car and get a new vehicle. The new owners 2 months after I’d sold it used a Q-Park in central Manchester. The app automatically charged me £18 for this stay. When I explained what had happened I was told it was my problem for not changing my car. Oh sorry, this was the last thing in my mind once I’d sold a car “oh I must update my Q-Park app”!!! So they got paid for this session twice, once by me and once by the new owner! Absolutely disgusting customer service, I even asked for a supervisor to contact me and got an even more ridiculous response.

As we do not have sight of when a vehicle changes owner we do have to rely on the user to update the details on the app. Your complaint was investigated by our customer service team and there was no evidence to suggest that the parking session was paid for twice. I trust you have now updated your details on the app?

No discount offers valid via the app

I had been using Q-Park for the majority of 2022 and making use of the Early Bird offer. I downloaded the app to make use of the Pay as you Go function and save a bit of time grabbing a ticket

What I was unaware of (and at no point was made clear or communicated to me during installation or creating the account) was using the app means offers are not available via the app and standard tariff applies. I was then charged £17 to park rather than the usual £7.50.

Surely the idea of creating an app is to provide additional usability and, at bare minimum, offer the same benefits as those who don’t use it. Unsure as to why a business would create an app that financially penalises its users of its own app - completely baffling.

As a positive, and the reason the review is 2* not 1*, the app was very easy to set up and had no issues at the barriers but will be deleting my account as I have no use for it if I’m to be charged 44% more per visit for doing so
