Free Multimedia Tours: discover more and easily find your way around
-Visit the museum your own way: follow a route or search for the numbers accompanying the works of art. Using interactive floor plans and directions, the app will take you to the start of the area or tour of your choice. During your tour, the app will take you from stop to stop. The blue space shows you where you are at all times. Please do keep your location facilities and Bluetooth switched on for this purpose.
- The tours: perfect for everyone! The aim is to see more. Each work has more layers: a 3D audio introduction clip and an animation that allows you to discover unique and surprising details about the collection. And for a number of works you can access additional commentary by inspiring experts and passionate enthusiasts.

Good way to save €5
This app generally worked well for me, once I realised there was free wifi in the Rijksmuseum. On one occasion the directions got a bit confused (there was one rogue instruction when directing me to the start of a tour, jumping between floor 0 and 1 then back to 0 again), but other than that I found it useful and easy to use. Just wish I had time (and energy) to spend more time exploring more of the exhibits.
We tried this on its own but I don't think it's very good like that. We really should have collected a free, paper floor plan too. We seemed to miss an awful lot and ended up going over the same route again. I wasn’t keen on the ‘Highlights’ tour and the app wasn’t always accurate with my location. But, as it’s free, very difficult to be too critical.
Highlight tour was great
Followed the highlight tour around which took me through some amazing areas. Loved the detailed audio and that you could drill down for more info if you liked. The highlight tour took me just over 2 hours to complete.
