Royal Cars Oxford 4+

I use royal cars regularly. They never let you down. Vehicles are always immaculate and drivers helpful. One driver the other day called his taxi mates to check if there were any problems getting fuel. Just to help me.
App is easy to use and work receipts accessible.

Royal’s drivers are fantastic, professional, friendly and efficient. The dispatch experience however is entirely unreliable.

After booking a the night before, no car arrived at my appointed time. On calling dispatch, they admitted they had not yet even allocated a driver for my ride, meaning the driver was put in the difficult position of already being late when they were given the job. Finally, after another unhelpful phone call, my car arrived 15 minutes late to an appointment booked the day before. The dispatcher pleaded being busy, which is an unreasonable excuse for a ride they had a day to plan for.

This furthermore was not an isolated incident. Rather it seems to be to be royal’s general policy towards pre-booking not actually to allocate a driver ahead of time, but to hastily appoint one as if you had just requested one the minute you meant for it to arrive. This is unprofessional and unreliable in the extreme. Avoid for anything the least bit time sensitive.

I used to like this company and then I moved to a village just outside of Oxford and everything changed. Anytime I book in advance as soon as it gets to the arrival time the driver is 20 minutes away. Today this happened and I watched from the doorway while putting on my shoes as the driver arrived and sat there for a minute or two did not bother to ring me and nearly drove off. I’ve had it with this company. I have numerous health conditions and struggle with my commute to work but I have been able to rely on the bus service more than this company. Do not bother with them.
