Still totally unreliable

Why can’t ScotRail sort their app out? Most of the time it goes round in circles never providing the train times and frequently can’t seem to let you buy a ticket even if you are lucky enough to get all the times displayed and wish to purchase. And as for info on services with problems we’ll good luck..often says there are problems but can you get any more info by clicking on the service you wish to know more about....
For pity’s sake It is now 2019 but given the inordinate number of trains cancelled for any number of reasons over the last few months. I would suggest that this is just another part of the failing service provided.
Someone needs to test things properly and not just provide yet another inadequate update.

What a useless app. Originally it worked to buy tickets and have them put on your card. Why bother with the card goodness knows, when it could be done on the phone. Anyway, the lag time between purchase and the ticket going on the card was such that it was unreliable. Thankfully, I found that staff just waved me through when I waved the card. Now that option seems to have gone. All the app does is give you the opportunity to buy tickets and pick them up from the station later. What’s the point? A useful app would allow you to travel without having to queue at the station to use a machine.

Still garbage for SmartCard

Gave up on this in the middle of last year & reverted to paper tickets, as the journeys booked via the App consistently failed to load on to the card. This month, May 2019, I thought I would try again, got sent a brand new card, and experience the same problems all over again. Now more often than not, the gates refuse to open at Glasgow Central when I tap the card to start my journey, displaying “seek assistance” on every lane I try it on. To add further insult, it seems ticket inspectors have now been told to inspect confirmation emails before they believe you.
