Pre-boarding

When the line is not blocked, the service is excellent if expensive, as noted internationally.

Observation:
At T5, instead of angrily berating passengers understandably attempting to board the waiting train, the door control buttons of which are invitingly lit & even some doors open, platform staff should aim to be polite & helpful. More sensible, less unpleasant procedures should be adopted.

Solution:
1. I don’t know the limitations of the train electrics but not illuminating the door buttons would be obvious
2. drawing a strap barrier across all open doors 3. having clear, multilingual signs in place at the gates, on the platform & perhaps on the carriage sides by the buttons

Conclusion:
Anything sensible to prevent passengers getting a bollocking within an hour of arriving in Britain would be appreciated by everybody. Seeing clear & hearing kind guidance would be considerably better

Travelling in this part of this country is stressful enough as it is, please don’t contribute to its deterioration.

Thanks

So bad it should be withdrawn

So many problems… I ended up buying a ticket twice because the app returned an error message with my Visa card, so I tried again with PayPal. Only to find later email confirmation the first transaction had worked and I’d paid twice. My two saved Visa cards appear with Mastercard logos, not a big deal, but hardly inspires confidence in the payment system. Once bought, neither ticket has become visible in the ‘My tickets’ section of the app even though I was signed in and purchased through the app - I just get an error saying ‘invalid response format’ with a ‘Close’ button. I can’t get the ticket into the Apple wallet from the app or email, as it isn’t there in the former and is sent as a PDF in the latter. But this app has always been rubbish, so using it is always a battle of hope against experience.

Update … It seems Heathrow Express tickets can be bought via the general purpose Train (Trainline) ticketing app. There is little reason to persist with the miserable, hopeless Heathrow Express app for ticket purchases.

No reward points added at all!!

I've registered my Heathrow rewards card number and made my bookings with this app more than 15 times during the past two years but NEVER EVER got a single point! On the app it says the points will be added to my card and I double-checked the card numbers over and over again, but couldn't find any clue to sort it out. Where on earth my points disappeared???

Plus, login is required every time I open the app and it doesn't remember my email address and password so I have to type in each time. You know how irritating it is when you arrive at the ticket gate in hurry and only find you have to type every single letter to access to your account to purchase the ticket!

The only thing I can appreciate is the tickets come as a QR cord and easy to use; otherwise, rubbish.
