The new improved Heathrow Express app has some great features and benefits to help make planning and booking your journey quick and easy.
Personalised experience – Create an account and login to activate all the features of the app. Including presenting your travel day information with your tickets along with live train times on your home screen.
Quick booking – Need a ticket in a hurry? Book a ticket in seconds. Once you are logged in you will have the option to activate this new feature, allowing you to book at ticket on the day of travel in just a few clicks.
Live train times – In addition to the scheduled times and service information, you will now be able to see live train times on the day you travel, making your journey planning even easier.
Accessing tickets – Your tickets can easily be accessed and managed in one place on the app, allowing you to view upcoming tickets for travel and manage past tickets. Plus, you can still add your Heathrow Express tickets to your mobile wallet.
Manage your account – With all your details in one place, including payment options, personal details, language and currency settings it’s easy to create and manage your experience how you want it.

One of the worst apps ever made
I was pleased to hear there would be a “new” app. Been left very disappointed.
Use the Heathrow Express almost every week, the train service meets my needs. However, the app could and should be so much better! The user journey is terrible, it never saves or gives you an option to remember your details, you can’t access a mobile ticket without downloading it and saving in to a wallet. You can’t easily import carnet tickets bought online in to the app, the payment options are limited to card only, no digital payments (which is madness given the global audience for this service!)
Sorry, it’s bobbins and was a waste of your time and money. Worth spending a bit of money to do it right and perhaps undertake some user research and testing before release.
Used to be better before...
The application should serve one purpose: make it easier for the user to purchase and use tickets.
Yet it seems that they have focused only on the purchasing part - it is quite easy to book a ticket - but forgot about the easy to use part. Once you have paid for a ticket it is almost impossible to open it. You have to save it in “wallet”, where it gets mixed up with a gazillion old tickets of some reason. Or you can click a series of buttons to download it as a pdf and finally open it in some other Apple standard application. Not good when you scramble to get your valid ticket out when approaching the ticket gates.
Opening up the next valid ticket should be as easy as purchasing one!
As a frequent traveller on the HEX, I expect to be able to purchase easily (Apple Pay integration or stored card), access my tickets and know when they have been used. It is great there is some visibility on ticket status but it is not always accurate. My payment cards and PayPal have stopped worked and I cannot buy a ticket. There is nothing wrong with my cards. Adding tickets to the Apple Wallet is unhelpful. I now have loads of tickets in there... with no idea which ones are still active. Fundamentally, anyone who uses the HEX on a regular basis or does not take a straightforward return journey will find this app a nightmare. In addition, options for Heathrow partners have just disappeared. Please fix this!
