Great after update!

Since updating to version 2.0.1 I am very impressed with this app. I can now change shutter speed, iso level, aperture etc in the remote photography menu. The connection seems more stable than before, viewing images is much faster (but you need to connect to WiFi for this). You can also change the location data accuracy, put on auto link and turn on or off a battery saving mode. One small feature which I love is that I don’t have to go into WiFi settings on my phone to connect to my camera anymore (the app produces a pop-up which asks if you want to join the WiFi without needing to leave the app). Overall I’m very pleased with the update, and look forward to further improvements. Well done Nikon!

Continuous problems with connection

Even after the update - it still doesn’t work. In fact now it won’t pair at all, no matter how many different ways I try/how many times it’s switched on and off. If canon can manage it with no issues whatsoever, why can’t nikon?! Frustrating and just pathetic that they can’t even fix an issue that’s been going on for TWO YEARS. Are Nikon just hoping we’ll all get card readers and forget about uploading and editing on our phones? Especially not good for when we can travel again.
I’ve never had problems like it with my canon app, the connection/pairing between the W300 and my iPhone seems to need to be continuously renewed, or you just have to ask it to join the WiFi 6/7/8 times before it decides to work. It also has serious trouble finding photos if you use a memory card on two different cameras, yet none of the other cameras have trouble finding the nikon ones in their apps.. honestly the worst photo app I’ve ever used, two stars only because when it does work it’s very easy to navigate and the remote filming is handy for some underwater shots.

Simply Awful

I don’t usually review apps but this app is just so bad that I couldn’t let this go unsaid.

I downloaded this app when I first got my Nikon D3400. I paid extra for this camera specifically for the SnapBridge feature as it’s vital for my work that I send photos over quickly and in good quality. I edit all my work on my iPad Pro in Photoshop, so I figured this Bluetooth feature would be a lifesaver. But it wasn’t.

When I first paired my camera and attempted to send photos over, the image quality was horrendous. The app layout wasn’t exactly clear either and it just didn’t feel like the app was working correctly.

I’d deleted the app that day but after going out on a trip recently, I figured that I would try it again after I saw that the app had some updates since. Although this time, my camera wouldn’t even pair with the app! I tried over 5 times, both on my iPad and iPhone, deleted the app and tried the process again and again and it just got stuck before displaying an error message. I viewed the help page, which didn’t help at all.

If I had known this feature didn’t work, I would’ve bought a cheaper camera, maybe not even a Nikon. Now I’m having to pay for an SD card adapter for my iPad because this app is utterly useless.

If you’re thinking of relying on this feature for your work, don’t get your hopes up. That’s all I have to say.

There needs to be some serious updates to this app and FAST.
