In this update, you’ll see we’ve redesigned a few screens and made accessibility improvements throughout our app.
Our new, reorganised Account screen makes finding the information you need easier and quicker. It’s more intelligent too, providing important information – like the number of active ads or days remaining on your upgrade – in one glance. It also lays the foundations for significant upcoming changes.
We’ve also overhauled the design of our Post Ad screen — explaining why you should post one for either your search for a room or for a flatmate/tenant. Hint: it’s really effective. Plus, we’ve improved the usability of resuming or discarding a draft ad.
Finally, you can now use Google’s Gmail app – as well as Apple’s Mail app – to get in touch with us for support.

Ratings and Reviews
The new saved search function is good, but there’s some features that could do with updating..
- app doesn’t always show new ads - should show “new” as ads you’ve not opened then grey them out. Right now they still show as new so you keep opening ones you’ve already seen!
- it doesn’t always show in the app or desktop website when you’ve contacted someone previously, sometimes you can end up messaging them twice.
- it would be better to narrow down the search for move in date, to bring up more relevant ads (e.g 7 days, not 21) - maybe a tick box option for filter? You end up wading through 100s of ads, many which you’ve already opened before.
I can’t believe the high rating
Ok first thing a first. The app has a monopoly on the market. So by nature you will find a room. But that is where the positives end.
There are virtually no advanced features. I could think of ten things to add that would be amazingly useful that just don’t exist
How can you let people list a room without ever putting a photo in. Or how can you let people list a description that doesn’t line up with details.
The filtering is awful
The initial contact process is awful
The sorting options are awful
The mapping options are nonexistent
The site itself is better than the app (but still bad)
You may have to use this service to get a room but to rate it five stars as a product is a joke. It’s basic functionality only. See room. Contact. The end.
You guys really should do better and the price for a membership is absurd given the lack of real function. I should be able to accomplish what I want in a couple of hours not the three days it’s going to take me.
Has anyone there ever actually tried to find a room in London with this app - I don’t mean one small area - I mean see what’s going in London in general. If you had you’d see how bad it is.
It also now turns out that once you star a certain number of places the app gives up completely keeping track of them. And the number isn’t that high.
Gets job done
Would be good if the ‘who’s interested’ feature would be in the app, right now (unless I’m missing something) there’s no email or notification, if someone doesn’t go the website you miss all those interested, either bring it to the app or get of it.
When I look at rooms near me (app feature), the room I currently have for renting appears way down the list even though I’m in the flat hence it’s closest to me, this might be broken
The biggest issue however is that I don’t think it’s well advertised enough on the website, people seem to take way to long to even view the messages I don’t think as many people are using this.
