UPDATE: not suitable for children. A lot of adult conversation in chats which cannot be avoid. You can play for free but it’s is very time consuming. A lot of players have had problems with their partners because of the time the game takes to play. Other games battlepasses are a lot cheaper and this game has a lot of bugs. Having said that content is added every month (but bugs seem to be long standing or they disappear and reappear). Bad connection on wifi often which is not the users fault. Notifications for territory PvP still do not work (maybe it isn’t enabled for older iPhones? I don’t know). My advice is to try it and if you don’t like it try another game that’s cheaper like WoT.Original review: I have played since March 2020. Scopely have made ways to earn ships and officers without money more recently following feedback. Scopely are good to solve problems if you provide feedback consistently and provide screenshots and times. The problem with the shield happened to players using a 12 hour shield with their ships in open space (which were attacked- this nullified the shield for some reason). Screenshots with proof of the time the shield has been set and the time remaining on the shield sent to scopely (how do you do this on iOS??) I have been told helps. I take a screenshot prior to maintenance in case there is an issue logging into my account and I loose all of my resources. But they’re easy to raid back so I don’t see a big problem... Not all problems have been fixed. I would not spend money on the game. If you progress quickly without being strong enough you struggle to keep up.
Game is going downhill fast

I’ve been playing the game for over 3 years now and it’s clear that the developers don’t care about everyone enjoying the game despite their replies to other reviews. How can it be enjoyable to spend months upgrading your ships, research, crew and station only to have them utterly destroyed by a player 10 levels above you? Scopely suggest upgrading your ships etc but it simply isn’t possible without spending £1000’s in real money - it is geared towards these players and there is no repurcussion for them. If Scopely truly believe they don’t tolerate bullying or harassment they should narrow the pvp gap allowed, there are people on my server who constantly attack mid level players on a persistent basis which is basically bullying. Scopely don’t do anything about it apart from saying upgrade your ships etc. When I first started playing it was enjoyable and I felt that spending money on the game was worth it, in the last 6 months I’ve stopped spending money altogether as it would cost £1000’s to reach a level where I could provide a challenge for the bullies. Now I’m simply waiting for a replacement game to come along and when it does I will move over to that. Don’t even get me started on the multiple bugs that arrive with every update, this month is worse than usual with missions not being able to be activated among other bugs.
More stars than it deserves

So I gave this game one star just for the fact it’s Star Trek So this game is great as long as you’re a millionaire the game it totally pay to win all scopely care about is how much money they can get out of you by putting at least 80% of the content behind a pay wall take the server I’m on it’s always the same players with the biggest ships who place in the top 5 and get all the good rewards which they don’t really need and most likely will never use and don’t get me started on the balancing of the levelling system in this game I’m level 24 and anything below level 20 4 levels lower are protected from me yet players who are level 34 can attack me and clear my station in minutes which I can do nothing at all about because they are so much stronger and why would scopely do thing to change that when all the big level players are cash cows and scopely will do everything in their power to keep the cash flowing (update review 2024 oh my where to start the amount of players who have quit my server due to one player attacking them on a hourly basis I mean he’s ops 67 with ships 4B in power I’m ops 45 my strongest ship is 22m yet the jokers who make this game claim thats fair he’s 22 levels higher then me how’s that remotely fair every update they bring more useless stuff to do for that months battle pass then gets forgotten multiple bug also if you’re looking to start this game just don’t it’s like having a second job at this point with no pay
Developer Response
Hi, McVampire. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts about the game and it's various aspects. Purchases are completely optional for players seeking faster progression but is not required as it can always be achieved in time. There are also certain ranges applied during PVP and rest assured that this is working as designed. Nevertheless, your feedback is greatly appreciated and will certainly be taken into account by our team for further adjustments and improvements to the game.
Good game but expensive
Thedude1976
Been playing since the game first started, it was great at first until players started getting to big, it’s a little hard to understand how players get so big so fast as upgrading and ship building take so long and you need an astonishing amount of resources to do so. The in store packs started off ok reasonable priced with loads in them, then something went really crazy and the packs are stupidly priced for next to nothing in them, you can pay £99 and not even have enough to upgrade a basic low level ship so the packs are way way over priced. You can mine for resources but again this takes a stupid amount of time and the stronger players just attack you and take it all. Theres different level mining nodes but once you get past a certain level you really on need level 3 or above but you’ve got more chance of finding lord Lukan than you have of getting a level 3 or above as there very limited and the stronger players hog them constantly. The game play though is good the graphics are good but full of bugs sadly. Getting blue prints for a decent ship is harder than than landing a man on mars too they seem to give you blue prints for half a ship then you get no more unless it’s for the same low level ships over and over again and upgrading ships takes a stupid amount of resources that you just can’t get unless you take out a loan or re mortgage your house. I do actually like the game though but it’s way to expensive and can be seriously frustrating. If the in game play was fare and store purchases cheaper this game would be epic sadly it seems the Devs have overpriced it to the extreme
