Sync - Secure cloud storage 4+

- playback of music such as an mp3 is painful - stops when focus leaves the app, if screen lock kicks in then playback continues until unlocked at which point playback stops again, sometimes the same file is clearly being played by two different threads at two different positions
- app seems to need to completely reload as soon as it loses focus - if you have a text file open that you are referring to then you have to keep reopening it
- would be nice to be able to edit text files, even in the vault

I have this running on my 6s and it tells me that all of my photos have been backed up, but when I cross check on the web console, there is a video file that hasn’t been backed up.

The file itself is over 1Gig so I appreciate that it will take some time to transfer BUT the app is telling me that the upload status is idle and all photos have been backed up. Either way, no matter how long I wait, this video file will not transfer across.

When I check the Camera Upload folder on my desktop, I see that the largest file that has been backup from my iPhone is 600Mb which is only about 4 mins of video. I know I’ve taken longer video clips and since deleted them to free up space thinking that they’ve been backed up but obviously, they haven’t.

Thank god google photos !!!

PS, the desktop app works flawlessly. Just don’t trust the iPhone app to backup your photos and videos.

The use of end-to-end zero knowledge encryption makes it my go to cloud storage service.
The desktop and web apps are pretty good but the mobile app is frankly not as good as the competition.
Other apps like Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox are just “sexier” and that has NOTHING to do with security.

It could me much better if a few things get fixed like:
- The weird light gray / white contrast in dark mode that looks pretty outdated;
- On iPhones with FaceID, when the app is locked it says “Unlock with TouchID”, strange;
- The inability to use it with the Files app, unlike other providers it’s read-only… kind of a bummer considering the app itself isn’t amazing.

Attention to detail makes all the difference. A small design refresh is all that’s needed to make it a 4.5 star app.
