What is Task360?
--------------------
Task360 is a revolutionary new app that pays members of the public to collect data for our corporate clients. New tasks are added on a regular basis and include a description of what is expected as well as details of the fee paid for successful completion.
Tasks can be anything from taking a photo in a supermarket of a promotional display, confirming street directions, reporting conditions of roadside billboards, checking adverts in cinemas or even buying drinks in a pub!
How does it work?
---------------------
>> Find and filter tasks near you on the map view or list view.
>> Click a pin to find out about a task, e.g. name, address, distance and fee.
>> Click on the pop-up to get full instructions and time limits.
>> Click to reserve.
>> Once confirmed, select "Start task" or "Abandon"
>> Task overview displays the questions, and if you are ready, click "Go!"
>> Contact us any time via the live chat help option and recap on what’s required by clicking on the task overview.
>> Answer questions carefully and accurately within the timescales given.
Typically tasks take just a few minutes to complete!
>> Review your responses then click on "Submit answers"
>> Your responses will be uploaded within a few seconds and a ‘Congratulations!’ pop-up appears.
>> In the profile section of the main menu, click on "Stats" to see task statuses: approved, rejected and waiting for approval.
We normally approve tasks within 24-48 hours!
Once you have earned over £10 you can withdraw your funds and clicking "Request Payment" will ask you for your bank details.
And we have a pay run every week!
What next?
-------------
>> Download the Task 360 App – it’s completely free of charge!
>> Create an account with a simple profile.
>> If you love it, come back and write a glowing review (and see what others have said below). If you’re not happy, get in touch and tell us about it directly.
Please note:
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
Works with iOS 9 and above
more Of all the task apps available the administrators of Task360 have absolutely got it right. The app is simple to use, the instructions given to reserve, perform and submit each accepted task is concise and easy to follow giving the user confidence to perform the assignment correctly. The rewards for each task is mainly higher than competitors and approval of your work is quick and efficient.I really enjoy this app and even though you appear to be anonymous in the work you do you feel part of a great team. The task availability pins on your map don't appear for very long and you have to be quick off the mark to accept the work because, if not, a colleague will beat you to it.Most of all, for me, it's great fun.
Developer Response WOW you made us blush - thanks for taking the time to feedback, I will make sure all in the team read your positive feedback.

Great job/task app, it’s probably one of the best. I love the live chat option to be able to engage with the office. More tasks please👍My only criticism is that of all the task/job apps this one, by farrrr, takes the absolute longest to cash out. It can take up to 12 days to get your money! This is a nonsense, other app download cash to either PayPal or personal bank account in no less ne’er than 10-20 seconds. Why do we have to wait for your ‘cheque run’?? Means nothing in modern banking. Come on chaps/chapetts please fix this so I can give you the 5 stars 🌟 ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️ 💫 you want hey?Katy 🙏🏼

Clear and simple to use, everything makes sense. The app has gone from strength to strength - really looking forward to seeing what is in store for us. Very reliable too, not crashing all the time like the opposition. In-app support is brilliant - live chat with answers immediately. Unlike another app where it’s all email and no response after 2 months!
Developer Response Thanks for your support and will pass on your comments to the In App live chat people

A great bunch of people behind this, who give you a chance to intermittently earn some cash for little extra effort. You won't be a millionaire on this, but every little helps.

Our Kent Code Mills have been sweating away the hours to get you a shiny new app for 2018. This one has two improvements.
The first is to our task cache when working with massive jobs with gazillions of tasks - now there's no chance that you'll miss a task near you. Great news, especially as we have lots of massive jobs coming your way soon!
The second is an improvement allowing you to paste text into a text question - great if you have lots of repeated answers the same.
Happy New Year!

A quick fix for a video gremlin. Please download if you're having issues with your video questions.
7.50 12/12/2017
Minor changes this time. We've added the ability to release jobs to certain app versions, which means we don't have to wait until you've all upgraded. Best to upgrade quickly though, so you don't miss anything!
We'll leave the other small change as a pleasant surprise for you when you make some money!

Hello Taskers! We've got an early Christmas present for you - tasks can now have a brand spanking new Gateway step!
“What’s that?” you ask.
Well, you've probably done these kinds of jobs before, but they had to be done in two parts. First you reserved some tasks in a screener job, and then you waited for a bunch of materials to arrive in the post. Once you had those, you had to reserve exactly the same tasks in a new job - which you maybe found a tad awkward as you could have forgotten exactly which tasks you’d reserved in the screener.
Well, the Gateway step is your friend! Now these kinds of tasks can be reserved for us to capture your delivery address and confirm your booking for the task in the future, while the task always stays reserved in your lists - so no more confusion. We can also update the questions for the task as we get closer to the go live date.
We will also use the Gateway step for any normal task where you can reserve up to 14 days in advance and we then open the Gateway once the job goes live.
All you have to do download this app and then make sure your postal address is up to date (go to your profile from the main menu) and you will then have access to a new range of tasks and opportunities.
If that isn’t enough, we've improved the profile screens to support this new task type. There are now fields for any delivery instructions you may have, and for any specific extra information that we may require.
And finally, we’ve had another little tidy-up around some minor UI niggles. Nothing you’d really notice but it’s important to keep the dust at bay.

This release is mainly about updating to the latest versions of the third-party libraries we use and making sure we're good on the iOS 11 SDK. There are a few small changes and bug-fixes too:
Fix defect where if there is no featured job string set up in the admin app, we also fail to find ordinary nearby tasks (don't worry - you won't have seen this - we've kept a featured job set up ever since we found this one!)
Changed some wording in main menu items to make them clearer. Tidied some of our more exuberant capitalisation on the profile and reset email screen. The single task map now fills all screens correctly. Ensure the cash-out message shows correctly on iPad 2.
7.10 06/11/2017
Another release from sunny Kent. I think it must be your birthdays! This one brings you some fairly subtle under-the-hood improvements - but please do upgrade as there are matching server changes and your old app will soon be deprecated.
The main improvement we’ve made is to our anywhere tasks. We’ve made them match the pattern of our discovery tasks, which means less work for the server and makes it easier for us to change the number of responses we need. We’ve also made a few server side changes in preparation for speeding up our function for finding tasks, and this iOS app is ready for that too.
We now ask you for a review on the app store after you’ve cashed out. Please give us one - good reviews help us win more jobs for you to do! (And while we were there, we tidied up the cash out screen a little and gave payments from us a nice icon in the list to match the tasks you’ve done.)
Finally, we’ve fixed a few issues. Not bugs, no, who mentioned them?
- We cope properly when you abandon a task whose job has been pulled from the server. Before we just kind of ignored your attempt to do so. Similarly if your reservation has expired - we just let the abandon go through, because, hey, that looks better than complaining at you.
- We render substituted fields into the task’s summary and brief before you actually reserve it. Before this fix, you’d have seen some strange text like $this and $theother there, until you reserved, when it would be replaced with something more meaningful.
- On occasion the server sends back an error as a dictionary rather than a string. Now we don’t throw our hands in the air and we send you a proper error message rather than an “oops” one.
- We strip whitespace and newlines from the start and end of our text answers. New lines in particular can mess with our export to our customers.
- We no longer upsize images if the server is demanding a larger size than your iPhone can provide because that is just stupid. (We took ourselves out the back and beat ourselves with twigs and we promise never to do it again.)
7.0 18/09/2017
Hi Taskers - this is quite a small release this time from our Kent code mines. We’ve added the ability to adjust your pin on our GPS type questions. It’s not in every GPS question, but when it is you’ll see a new “unlock map” button which frees the map and lets you drag it around until the pin is in the perfect spot. The latitude and longitude update as you do so and they display in blue text rather than green (or amber or red) so you can quickly see if you’ve adjusted the spot or not.
We updated a few of the third party libraries we use - in particular, Smooch, which we use for our help chat. Here’s hoping that fixes things for a couple of you who noted a permanent busy view here.
And finally, we’re capturing a few more analytics, so that we can tell those things that are working for you and those that aren’t.
6.1 07/08/2017
Hello Taskers!
Despite the hot weather and the temptations of the Task360 Towers swimming pool, our team in deepest Kent has been toiling away at their sticky keyboards for you, and here is the fruit of their labour.
The most thrilling addition is our new “featured job.” This is a new map page from the main menu, just the pins for that featured job (which then don’t appear on the Nearby map). This is a way for our customers to highlight an important or large job that they need to get done urgently, so it’s a great place to look for pins near you.
We’ve also added a feature to our GPS question, mostly for use in our new Discovery tasks. If the Task360 gurus here in the back office choose, they can add a new field to question, allowing you to get your GPS reading as normal but also name the place too. This helps us a lot when crunching images for our customers, and helps us mark your answers too, so useful for all of us!
Other changes this time include:
- A fix to a niggle when abandoning an expired task. Nothing that got in your way, but we like to get things right here in Hamstreet.
- The help image and help text on GPS questions sometimes went for a little wander. We’ve boxed it in, and made it behave, no matter how large the image or untidy the text.
6.0 19/07/2017
A very quick release this time - just to improve the UI a little and fix a few niggles. Details, as ever, below.
- Changed My Tasks to Reserved tasks. Kind of more descriptive, our UI guru says.
- Wider address fields in task details to fit wider addresses, properly aligned.
- Tweaks to new Anywhere list view sizing
- Improved job list for Discoveries - colours icon white if the job colour is dark
- Be defensive against a tricky server issue where (on alternate Wednesdays, when it's raining and the moon is full), a user gets a bogus task in her reserved list.
5.1 12/06/2017
Big changes in this release!
Firstly, we have a totally new kind of task for you - a discovery task. These are long-running jobs, where for example our clients will pay us to find out about a broken billboard as soon as you spot it. So keep your eyes on the discovery map, and see what jobs are live. (Hit the binoculars at the bottom right of the screen and you'll be presented with a list. If you've found something, just choose it and carry on as normal.) Your discoveries are added to the map straight away, pending approval - so everyone can see what you've found and not bother duplicating your hard work.
Secondly, our resident UI expert has cast her eye over Task 360 and brought in a breath of fresh air. We hope you love our clearer UI with an improved menu, more informative profile and cash-out list views, all-new map pins with differently coloured callouts, funky pin animations and a large scattering of shiny new icons.
We've also put the Anywhere tasks more up front and central, with their own main menu icon, which we hope will make them much easier to check on. You will be missing out on easy cash no longer!
There's also a couple of bug fixes:
- The profile view of your tasks and your cash-out view will agree on the amount you actually earned. Always good to be certain about these things.
- If you really must enter a single letter as an answer in a text question, we'll accept it. Or at least the app will, I'm not speaking for Mark and Jane!
5.0 04/06/2017
A quick release from our Kent code mills - this one allows you to do jobs with more than 100 questions, if you are so brave!
4.0 07/04/2017
Fixed the profile's task history view for people who are not yet on iOS 10.0 or higher.
3.1 15/03/2017
Hi Taskers,
The big news for the first release of 2017 is that we now support a new question type - GPS location. This is for questions where we want to pin down the exact location of something - you’ll get an address or some directions, and then send us the actual latitude and longitude of the place we want.
There’s another major change - you can now get back to all the steps at any point, and then go back into the task at a different step if you need to. This is dead useful on the new tasks we’re getting with loads of steps - if you’re on question 47, you don’t want to have to page back through every single step until you get to number 4.
Other more minor changes include:
- You can show the help images to full screen and then pinch to zoom them, so that you can check on the details of an image. Helps you get things right, and we both like that.
- Certain questions now support a minimum number of answers needed as well as a maximum. This helps us be clearer to you about what we want, and again helps you get it right. Win win.
- Both the newish video question and the very new GPS question now support our internal mark-up language.
- Lots of UI tweaks from the minor to the more major. In particular our buttons are now iOS standard and the colour purple is used consistently. If you’re particularly keen, you can read the nitty-gritty that follows, as usual.
Fix layout issues on photo view using UIStackView and tweak
Fix the layout of the filter menu a bit and get all the instructions to show
Tidy up the tableviews for the filter and the list of tasks - don’t show ruled blank rows
Improve profile page - centre the explanation text, line up the numbers etc
Further profile improvements using stackviews and constraint inequalities
Cashout - remove empty rows in tableview
Fit larger numbers in the balance on the cashout. Up to 5 figures plus 2 dp
Fix cashout for when 0.0 pounds
Fixes #983 - redo task history as VC with table view so that UI above tableview can be placed in storyboard.
Put photo taking buttons into a UIStackView side by side for better fit on small devices. Fixes bug with being below bottom bar
Ensure that missed out steps are shown “disabled” not with red cross.
Fix overview step cells for small screen
TaskDetail rows correct size and layout on small device
Fixing all sorts of sizing niggles and constraint complaints especially on smaller device.
Hopefully all final UI tweaks for small device. Made font sizes the same in new question types.
Fix width of purple button in task flow so that “Submit Answers” has more space around it
Ensure navigation bars and tool bars are solid white throughout the app
Use UIPageViewController to go through steps instead of UINavigationController
App supports calling either one stage or two stage reserve function, depending on app setting from server. Helps to fix a few reservation timing issues with over counts.
#974 - actually save the signup code. Also fix losing agent details if they didn’t go through over 18 path, and correct check for gender neither male nor female.
Some step related indices are zero-based and some one-based. Get it right in the perform flow steps overview. Fixes #978
Fixes #967 - don’t show the message about a lot of tasks if the location hasn’t come in yet (so we’re getting most of the UK)
Can zoom the help image cell on all question types. Implements #972
Use UIAppearance thhroughout, go to standard iOS buttons, new OFEBlockButton. Consistent colours.
Improve performFlow UI
Add Task Summary (replaces Task Overview) to all step types (was missing on some) and add All Steps to toolbar too - takes you to list of steps and can go to any step. UI modernised - no lines around buttons. Back becomes previous on performing step flow.
Tweaking look of cells and general all steps overview page
Lat Lon question saves altitude as well. Also map zooms to match accuracy.
New GPS (latlon) step type that takes a GPS reading with optional compass heading
3.0 09/03/2017
Hello Taskers - this is a big one! The code mills in sunny Kent have been working overtime and there’s lots of good stuff for you.
The big news is that we now support video questions, so get those camera skills sharpened up in readiness, and look for some exciting jobs coming your way in 2017.
Another thing we hope you’ll love is that when you request a cash out, we’ll authenticate you via Touch ID, falling back to your password in the usual way if you prefer. Now if someone in a stripy jumper gets hold of your phone, they can’t get hold of your earnings on Task 360 - which is nice.
Apart from that, there are lots and lots of smaller changes - a few UI tweaks, mixed with a generous helping of bug fixes and lightly seasoned with a little support for upcoming server improvements. As ever, the complete list of changes follows - we’ll be testing you on this later, so make sure you read carefully.
------------------
Change participation agreement to one that is hosted on task360.co.uk
Update iOS project to recommended settings for iOS 9, make iOS 9 SDK changes required
Ensure Smooch user changes when user logs out and new one logs in
Support faster task search in server
Add app setting for server’s maximum desired video file size and don’t allow the upload if the file is bigger. Set the max video length on a video selection too so the user can’t select a massive file, but only choose a portion of it.
Allow fees for jobs to be overridden to 0
Many changes to better show user is logged out, and for privacy. Settings changes, cashout screen, profile, my tasks.
Minor improvements to UI (tidy up) - launch screen, profile, cashout, signup, my tasks, number question
Colour background of the large image zoom view to match the app’s main colour
Hide the back button while task is reserving to ensure a reservation completes properly
Fix forgot password crash
Do a refresh of pins on first load of map screen
Don’t reload map pins if we’ve already had the location come in when the view loads
Don’t leave the text task when just revisiting it and pressing done button.
Fixes for map controller and task manager so reserved tasks & map refreshes don’t happen for my reserved tasks on unlogged in user
List view updates correctly after reserve task. Also my tasks works properly
Show better message on abandon if task is loading. Fix task being abandoned / completed crashing on TaskDetailsView after local task is deleted
Change message saying you need to do profile to get tasks. #835. Also fix storyboard for neatness
Help page no longer loads twice, don’t get logged out message in maps view if you’re asking for help
Map view is disabled while filter & menu show so can’t get UI into a state
Fix where editing was not allowed when postcode was invalid
Show number of steps on detail view header for aid in support calls
Starting job with goto step no longer crashes app
Text under multiple images reflects true state of UI. Zoom view works, is passed a UIImage not nil. You can select an empty thumbnail and then take photo using main image
Remove the cache from payment history, it is confusing people and can be inaccurate
Ensure that lat and lon are within the correct bounds
Don’t log a fail to upload when already uploading, this is expected
Remove misleading log saying that tasks are uploading when we are only checking
Keep a local copy of my tasks in TaskListView in case refresh is changing the underlying model while users are tapping on rows
Only say there’s a lot to do on the map view if a lot of pins show (i.e. not if filter reduces them a lot)
Refresh local myTasks after abandon to fix crash
2.0 13/01/2017
Hi Taskers! Not a very exciting release, this one, but what's very exciting is that with this release we'll be almost ready to launch on our own server!
Here's some of the nitty gritty:
- Updated many of the lovely libraries we use.
- On the new server we'll be logging to Papertrail, so we added support for that to iOS too.
- Ask for login again on the map view when needed.
- Don't pre-complete the password field - you want to be secure if you lose your phone.
- Log which Parse Server URL we're using on launch.
1.9 25/08/2016
Another release already? Didn't we have one last month? Well, the code mills at Task 360 headquarters in sunny Kent have been working overtime and we've made you an app that shouldn't log you out occasionally, when you want to be logged in. And if you're logged out on the map view, we'll ask you if you want to log in. We like you logged in - you might see more tasks! You like seeing more tasks, we like you doing more tasks. Win win.
We've also tidied up the whole area around what tasks you see in your task view. If someone else has reserved it, you won't see it any more. You won't think you have it reserved yourself and drive 500 miles to do the task for no reward. We think that's good and we hope you like it as much as we do.
Almost finally, we've moved to only supporting iOS 9.0 and greater. In a bunch of techies like you, most people are on it anyway - and it means we can bring you fantastic new things in future.
Finally, here's the nitty gritty:
- Fairly extensive changes around task refresh and upload. Also fixes #721 Crash in refreshLocalTasks
- Extensive changes to implement simpler, synchronous login with challenge shown on map view if not logged in - fixes #766 Users keep getting logged out of Task360
- Only do analytics if not on Parse Server
- Don’t access the task after upload in the permission-denied case - it will have gone away. Show a meaningful error message instead.
- Within Step save, fetch publicJob so that the stepsArray is up to date
- Update the main storyboard to use the app's deployment version like the other storyboards do.
- Fix #767 - only delete image files on save, so you can cancel, leave the page and not get in a mess
- Fix error codes to perfectly match cloud code
1.8 03/08/2016
Releases of Task 360 are like buses. You don't get a new version for months, and then you get two in quick succession!
We decide to fix some long-standing problems with photos, so all those multi photo questions you know and love are now fully operational and ready for take off. Here's the nitty gritty for all you detail-oriented Taskers:
- Ensured that local state was saved when you were taking or deleting fewer than the maximum number of photos in a multi photo question.
- Ensured that the correct image was deleted - the one matching the thumbnail!
- Improved our error messages a bit so that you can understand what we're ticking you off for!
1.7 14/07/2016
We've squashed a few bugs. In particular, tasks should no longer get stuck uploading or disappear from under your feet when things are very busy on Task 360!
If you hit the button to abandon a task, we ask you if you're sure first. But who wants to abandon a Task 360 task anyway?
There's now unlimited text in message type questions. We're very talkative sometimes and we hate having to cut ourselves off mid-flow. Oh, and hyperlinks now work in the questions, which is nice.
And we know that most of you Taskers are super detail-oriented people, so here are some of those details:
- enable revokable sessions and change your boring old-style session to a minty fresh new one
- load a configuration file from the internet at start-up to determine Parse server
- break image cache dependency on AFNetworking
- expunge any mention of quests. It's tasks, tasks, tasks all the way!
- update all our dependencies. In particular, latest Parse SDK and Realm
- we don't ask you to log out the minute you've logged in. Who wants to log out of Task360 anyway?
- images are better named, to help our hard-working back office boys categorise them
- a few changes getting ready for running on our own Parse Server
- we don't crash if there's no network. You can't do a lot, but that's physics.
And a great big thank you to all our fantastic beta testers!
