Ratings and Reviews
More of a summary than actual lessons
I've given it four stars because it does give a lot of useful and concise information, but it doesn't really explain some things at all.
- the "key signature calculation" lesson makes little sense to this "theory novice" for example.
However it's very useful to help you understand what you've learned elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend using this app in isolation. But I would recommend using it as an extra resource.
A ‘Go-Too’ app....
As a music professional I heartily recommend this app. Clear, precise, brief. Absolute simplicity to use. A design triumph in my view fellas....
Bare bones
The app has a very little amount of audible examples, especially in the meters and time signatures chapters where it's very crucial to heat the difference between complex time signatures.
There are literally no exercises in the app to help you progress.
The theory text is very repetitive and uses very subjective terminology with no attempts to explain it. For example, what does it mean that a seventh note in a minor scale "wants to lead"? No explanation for that, they just go forward with this.
