With TrueCoach Connect we set out to create an app that makes it even easier to let your clients know that you are with them on their journey.
Note: an active TrueCoach coach account is required for Connect.
With Connect you can:
• Send and receive messages
• Review your clients’ workout results
• Read and respond to your clients’ workout comments
• Mark messages and activities as read/unread to keep track of what you still need to review and respond to
• Filter your Inbox to show only your unread things (messages, workout results and comments)
• Receive push notifications when clients send messages, complete workouts or post comments on workouts
• Customize what push notifications you receive
What’s New
Version 2.8.1
2.8.0 changed how videos and images captured in-app behave, and unfortunately that made it so that videos longer than a minute (or larger than 100mb) would fail to send. We’ve smoothed those issues out and improved that experience in a few ways:
- If an image/video message fails to send we do a better job telling you why it failed (sometimes the problem isn’t your phone or your internet connectivity!)
- If a message fails to send, you can now delete it instead of attempting it again (if you’d like)
- You can record longer videos again
- If an image or video is uploaded from your photos library, we will let you know if it’s too big to send.
Other Bugfixes:
- Comments with multiple lines will now show up as expected rather than condensed down to one line
- Archived clients will now disappear from your conversations list!
- Messaging clients for the first time will no longer require refreshing on the main conversations list to see the message(s) sent
- We’ve resolved several issues with sending messages to multiple clients
New features:
- New coaches looking to use Truecoach can go to our website to sign up for an account easily if they don’t already have one
- If your clients accidentally download this app they can see a link to take them to the Truecoach for Clients app on the login screen
And of course, numerous other bugfixes and improvements.
Ratings and Reviews
Terrible UI. Won’t open client messages
Terrible UI, everything is hard to find and to top it off messages from clients will not even open anymore. TC is too expensive and dysfunctional. I’m losing clients because of the torrent of bugs they’re dealing with.
I’ve used True Coach for close to two years and sadly, I can honestly say the platform has got worse in that time. I’ve reported endless problems and nothing is EVER fixed. I’ve moved to Trainerize it’s 1000x better and the same price. True Coach’s pricing is absurd considering it doesn’t run smoothly and the don’t even have half the integrations their competitors have.
So much potential!
Since Septembers HORRIFIC update (the app was hardly functional), it is now a lot smoother and reliable. 👍🏻
That said, from a coaches perspective; which is who this app is designed for, I feel it is consistent with the desktop version. I’d love to see the following:
▪️Client Removal:
- Currently, if you archive/remove a client from TrueCoach their inbox still remains. The ONLY way to remove them on this app is to delete the entire app and re-install it. Very annoying!
▪️Dark Mode:
- PLEASE. The white light is so harsh at night!
▪️GIFS:
- It’d be great to allow for them on TrueCoach WITHOUT having to download an additional app. Currently available on desktop so its very anti-climatic when a client sends one and you can’t return the message with one yourself!
▪️Bulk Messages:
- If I send a bulk message to ‘all active clients’, whilst having some unread messages in my inbox, by doing so, I automatically read all those unread messages and it’s then very easy to miss important client information. Please fix!
Hope these requests get heard as it’s an app with A LOT of potential! 🤞🏻

As a coach everything should be simple - this app only gives us a messenger app and can see what someone done where as the web browser allows you to do everything integrate the app to work like the browser not like your company doesn’t have the money to do so everyone that pays for it is £50+ a month and need to use a browser to actually use it 😂
