Great but...

Extraordinary#1
The app is great and allows you to look at all the universities in the UK. It has so many great aspects and is an amazing app to download if you are looking to go to uni or thinking about it. Also, it’s never too early to start looking so, even if you are in year 9 or 10 and have a few years left, start dabbling with this kind of thing. It will make the whole process easier when you are in year 12 and 13. However, it would be great if they added universities from around the world as I am looking at those too. Location isn’t really important to me. I don’t mind wether I’m far from home or right next door. Therefore, I would love it if you could add universities from countries all around the world, not just in the UK. Overall, a great app. Keep adding new features (*wink, wink* 😉) and updating this app. Making my life a whole lot easier.

Hey Extraordinary#1, this is something that we are preparing for, but due to COVID-19 and the possibility of fewer students travelling abroad, we're currently prioritising domestic (UK) features first. When we do launch overseas options (hopefully soon-ish), we will do so with France, Germany and Spain first. Then the other EU countries will follow suit. I hope that helps. Thanks for the review! ツ
Great but...

Extraordinary#1

The app is great and allows you to look at all the universities in the UK. It has so many great aspects and is an amazing app to download if you are looking to go to uni or thinking about it. A helpful app but there’s a small flaw

It’s quite good in that it allows me to really specify what university I’m looking for and where I’d prefer to go location wise. However, it feels like it takes too long to find the best university for the best course. You can find specific courses easily, but it takes a while to see the best uni specifically for that subject since I can’t filter the search that way, so I still end up going online and searching rankings for specific courses.

It’s quite good in that it allows me to really specify what university I’m looking for and where I’d prefer to go location wise. However, it feels like it takes too long to find the best university for the best course. You can find specific courses easily, but it takes a while to see the best uni specifically for that subject since I can’t filter the search that way, so I still end up going online and searching rankings for specific courses.

Inaccurate and over complex filter

While presented nicely there are little aspects of use. Some information is inaccurate or blatantly wrong. The automatic filters are frankly stupid and recommending unis as a result of location is pointless. Using prospectuses, uni websites, which? Or complete university guide is far easier and more accurate. There are 5 problems I have seen from 10mins on the app - TEF statistics are incorrect when compared with uni websites and prospectuses. Information on how the courses are assessed is also wrong for multiple universities.Having an automatic recommended list based on where you currently live is frankly idiotic. For most people considering academic courses location with respects to where they are is not important and certainly not the first thing to think about.Having to search everything by name as not even every course comes up even when the title of it is searched. Some can only be seen by finding the uni then scrolling over every course. Universities with no open days scheduled according to the app do have dates in their prospectuses.

Thanks for getting in touch James but some of the sites you mentioned use the same dataset, so we are having trouble understanding your review. All of our data is imported via HESA & Unistats, as well as the universities themselves. We do have a new course and university search coming too, in the coming week. I’ve been stressed about the idea of going to university for so long, but this app has really helped to put my options into perspective. All the necessary points to compare are there, which saves me trawling through each university’s website, and I really like that accommodation is a key section too. Reading student reviews is super helpful— I never really considered the surrounding area too important before. The layout is easy to work with, overall would highly recommend!
