Continual problems with this app each time we use. The app is incapable of staying logged in meaning you have to reset password each time which can be a problem if you can’t access Wi-Fi/5g. The app makes you pre pick number of hours you are charging in advance, which means one of 2 outcomes. Either you overpay or under estimate and have to go thru the process twice. If you try and put more hours on from the app you will have to pay but the car will receive no further charge. Additionally you cannot charge past 8 hours so a full charge can’t be achieved for most EV vehicles. We have been double charged when topping up the account on a few occasions. If you email via the app to let them know if problems they will not respond. If you contact Rolec via the phone ( you will queue for a long time) they tell you that they are not responsible for problems they operate them on behalf of someone else but due to gdpr they can’t tell you who!. This service needs regulating as it’s a rip off. We have to use it occasionally as we have no other option due to location. 😡

Not only are the rates extraordinary, but they charge by time, even if it’s not delivering electricity! My car was plugged in and no electricity was coming through the cable but the app timer was ticking down anyway. I tried to cancel the charge on the app but it said that if I do I wouldn’t be given a refund for the prepaid amount. Also you have to guess or calculate how much time you’ll need for charge because if you, say, buy 4 hours on the app and only use 3, tough luck… you’re getting charged for 4! What a farce! Obviously a company that wanted to get in on the EV boom, had the connections to install charging points with sub par expertise compared to other companies. The sad part is they will walk away with tons of our money before the scam is up!

This charging network could do with a contactless payment option. Otherwise, I am quite happy that I did not let myself influenced by all the negative reviews. I have used this charger and the app while on holiday in Cornwall. I was staying at one of the caravan sites, and had no idea that they provide EV charging facilities. Just happened to bump into these 2 charging stations with 2 connections on each. All delivering 11kw at a pretty reasonable price, compared to other providers which will rip you off for less power output. Using Vend Electric was pretty straightforward, downloaded the app, signed up for a new account straight away, topped up, plugged in and delivered 40 kw in less than 4 hours. No issues whatsoever in using the app or the charger. Quite happy with this experience.
