Great app

Love the app, find it so much better than Google maps. Only issue I have with it, is that when you have finished with the app and flick it off the screen it is still showing active in the top left corner of the screen(the blue GPS arrow). Only way to knock it off is to double tap the screen to the app switcher then swipe Waze completely off the screen to fully close the app, still having to do the above.Plus I think there is something else that potentially needs looking at and that is the volume control for the app, either through phone or Apple carplay, I think there should be someway of adjusting the volume via a control of sorts before setting off, as it is at the moment only gives a a couple of choices of on,off or notifications, and the only way to actually turn volume up or down is to wait for voiced directions from the app to talk to be able to adjust it, but sometimes you have to be pretty quick to do it and it has to be turned up or down with the actual volume control of the infotainment system which as I've pointed out that if you aren't quick enough doing it you end up turning volume up or down for your music etc instead of the guided voice volume.Other than the 2 points I've made, I'd just like to say that the app is still excellent, and I believe more accurate than the others Currently running on an iPhone 15pro max with ios 18.5

Please fix Waze no sound / voice instructions glitch
JColl75
Waze is by far the best for navigation around the UK and miles better than the built in one in our car. It’s very accurate and easy to follow. However there is a glitch with the voice instructions, sometimes it talks then for no reason whatsoever it just is total silence. We have constantly checked all the settings and nothing has changed at our end so that’s not the reason. We’ve checked the audio set up to make sure it’s correct. We’ve even done practice runs before an airport trip to see if we would have sound or not. We tested 3 separate short journeys within an hour one day. The first journey we got voice directions, the next two was just absolute silence.I wear driving glasses but they are not reading glasses (yes I’ve tried varifocals) so I cannot read the small screen. I need to hear the directions and need the confidence that Waze will work properly and not let me down on a journey in unfamiliar territory. A quick Google search shows that “why has my Waze got no sound” is commonly asked so it is a known problem and not just us.I gave four stars for the quality of the navigation app because when it works properly it’s brilliant, but it’s no good if the sound doesn’t work. Please sort this out then I can give 5 stars but as it is, I am reluctant to use or recommend it, especially as it didn’t work again when I needed it today on my drive home from the airport. Interested to hear thoughts on this from the developer.

Points?

I have been using Waze for years! I love this app. It has gotten better over the years and I appreciate other people informing other drivers of potholes, police, traffic etc so that my journeys can be less stressful at times when I need a less stressful route. When I’m using the app on my iPhone, it states iv received points for certain things… what are these points for? It gives me a tiny dopamine hit when I receive these points for reasons I know none! 😆 I have a campervan as my icon and I regularly change the voices. I vaguely remember having dad jokes..?.. and also a boy band voice..? If memory serves. Anyhoo, the choices of voice overs has been entertaining. I would like to see different vehicles accessible routes. I have a campervan, a car and a motorbike so would like the options for different routes for different vehicles as a suggestion. Iv come across low bridges that I couldn’t fit my camper under so have had to do a couple of u-turns so maybe a lorry friendly route could be introduced?Waze, you’re doing a grand job 👍🤩 Keep up the good work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
