Wiser Home 4+

New install

I have installed the system with valves on all rads except 1 and just need a plug range extender to stop the valves furthest from the controller loosing signal. It seems to be working well. I also contacted support for an issue and they were very helpful. The app looks comprehensive but… it keeps crashing! Also I sometimes go into a room to change the parameters on a different day to find when I save it it has reverted to the current day and changed that instead! A bit frustrating. I’m on iOS 16 and don’t know if that has affected it as it looks as though the last update was 3 months ago.
Update The update has made the app better and it no longer crashes. The issue of changing temperatures in the schedule on a different day to the current still remains but I’ve got used to changing it quickly before it can revert back to the current day. The only thing I want added to the app is the signal strength of each thermostat/plug to be displayed and the source to which it is connected. It would then be 5 stars for me!
April 2024 - device signal strength now available in the app! 👊🏻
The only other option I need now is for moments to be programmed for more than the current session and it would be a perfect 5 stars for me.

Worrying security flaw! Almost perfect, few things missing

Unfortunately after another update once again I need to enter my credentials. It would be great if the app could stop forgetting my login details. Once more worrying is that there is a huge security flaw - I can't copy and paste my password or use a password manager forcing me to write down my password everywhere in the house. That's a big step backwards and since my custom passwords are very complex it takes ages to type them by hand EVERY time you release an update.

First of all, I love the new design. Way better than before. I like the background actually. You could possibly create few pictures and backgrounds for the users to choose from like in Apple Home, to get more users happy. It’s almost perfect now, but make sure to do pop up yes or no with any delete button that is placed where usually Save/Ok button is so I keep deleting my heating schedules all the time. Also you could redesign the schedule entry mode as it’s quite confusing, maybe try reinventing it? Better iPad support would be great especially with landscape mode as I have it built into the wall. Apple Watch app would be a game changer for Wiser to try becoming the leader in smart home heating automation for iOS ecosystem. Quick tips built into the app with screenshot might help some users with finding common functions or creating setups. Keep it up and well done for all your efforts so far! 👍

Almost Perfect

We have just installed the Drayton Wiser system in our home and after 2 weeks are very impressed with the results so far. The App could be better though. There are basically 2 modes of operation for the heating: The Normal Mode has schedules that you set up for each room, controlling the temperatures required at different times during the day, which can also be different for each day. The second mode is Away Mode, which you can set lower temperatures for each room whilst you are not at home during a holiday for example. This is great, but could be better.
With many of us now working from home it would be great to be able to add new modes, where you could could just heat the rooms you are using without having to edit the Normal Mode schedule. Or if you have children that are usually at University and stay at home from time to time, it would be nice to have a Mode that would heat their bedrooms only when they are at home, rather than having to edit the Normal Mode schedules each time.
Connectivity of the valves and room thermostat to the Wiser Hub is very good. Which is quite surprising in our home, which has very poor WiFi coverage. My only other criticism would be that there is no support for control of domestic hot water heated by an electric immersion heater instead of a gas boiler. Maybe this is something Drayton will consider in the future.
Overall thought a very good system, which I would recommend.
