Overly complicated and charges twice

Downloaded this app yesterday whilst visiting local pub for lunch. I’ve used a few apps of this type and found this one to be overly complicated.

Sadly when using the app, i appeared to be “checked into” another pub and was charged the £1.01 fee to open a tab. It was refunded immediately but it is concerning that the app could do this.

To make matters worse, the app also timed out whilst ordering drinks and has charged me twice for a £32 round of drinks. Spoke with team in the pub who advised that this does sometimes happen. I’ve now got to go through the hassle of trying to sort out how to get my card refunded.

Understand that these are unprecedented times but this doesn’t excuse lack of functional testing before an app is released.

Unfortunately, there is no alternative, so it’s a captive market if you want to use these pubs.

There is no fee to open a tab but a £1.01 pre-authorisation card check is performed to check the card is valid. This is voided immediately and is covered in the FAQs. Badly written app

I've downloaded this app twice because of youngs free drinks offers and each time I delete the app afterwards because it's just such a low quality app for the iOS platform. Items on the tab bar are modal, things that look tappable on the front screen aren't (pina collada weekend!) and don't have any instruction, you can't swipe from the left to go back, theres no map to search for pubs in an area you're not in (you have to open each one individually and you're zoomed out to view your current location) and the full screen no Internet error is extremely frustrating. There's a load of UX issues like having to search for a pub in every section and having to wait to save on every profile screen even though I didn't change anything. Other features that are clunky, but obviously out of your control like split the bill not at all pubs and the ghastly looking book a table Web view. I'll update this the next time you have a drinks offer and I download the app again!

Doesn’t work, is opinionated, can’t use it.

Hands up. It’s my eye sight and I couldn’t see i had mistyped my email address. So, i never got a confirmation email, and now I cant log in, and I can’t reregister as you are only allowed one account per device. So, you have to ask yourself, what is the point of a sign in if the account is device locked? OK, moving on.

I installed the app on my iPad. Then I found I had to walk to the pub to ‘tap in’, which meant I had to walk to the pub to find out if there was a free table. That’s....stupid, if I can tap in remotely I can see if the table is free. How do you deal with no shows (which is apparently why this feature is in place), you charge them for not turning up, like a cancelled Uber.

Next, the app isn’t compatible with the Apple folio keyboard. That is, when the keyboard is folded back the pad still reads the keyboard, but doesn’t display various buttons.

Next, yes, this is getting tedious, how many buttons do I have to press to get a beer? I think it’s 6. Sooooo many question when what I want is ‘order beer, confirm, go back to Bach’.

Oh, and a developer contacted me to saw I can email in to change my initial mistake with the email address. That’s nice, but useless when I’m sitting in a bar looking to order beer. Just fix the one account per device problem and make ‘sign in’ the identifier. Sheesh!

This looks like something developed by a very small consultancy.
