An amazing way to learn (100% honest review)
Now I don't usually bother with writing reviews BUT this has to be said.... Coming home and hearing "under the bridge" by red hot chilly peppers being played by my 10 year old son is a super proud dad moment. My son had tried a few different guitar teachers, but unfortunately none of them he clicked with. Travelling upto an hour for an hour lesson took some time out of the day and with little results. Now my son comes home, jumps on his guitar for a half hour class on Yousician... sometimes he is so into it he just keeps playing without a thought of time. Its so easy that I even have a play with him sometimes.... the money I was spending on trying to get him a teacher was more expensive than the year premium subscription and the results speak for themselves... so much so that a few of his friends parents have asked me where my boy is learning and I have recommended Yousician and "everyone" is happy! I would recommend this to any parent or even an adult as its easy to follow and so cool! I could literally go on with how happy I am with this.... but I'll just say 1 last thing, "Want to learn an instrument and have fun.... Yousician all they way!"

Woah! We’re very happy to read about your experience with the app.
Thanks for sharing and keep on jamming!
Please fix note system!!!
I am having a good time with the app but the way it wants you to play a note at a specific time is irritating. The app has the notes of a song laid out on your phone and a circular ball bounce up and down for when your supposed to hit a certain note. The circular ball arcs through the air between notes, this can be a relatively small arc if the next note is immediate signifying you need to play quickly or it could be a very long arc if there is a gap between notes. So if it was D on the third threat you would see the ball land on the appropriate note with the fret position marked on it. However rather than you playing the note when the ball lands on the right note which would make sense the app will say you have missed the note and it will turn red. What is annoying is it it tells you what the next note coming is will be but basically leaves a lot to guess play for when you should hit it for example the app will tell you you have hit a ‘perfect’ timed note but the ball will be midway flying through the air or it will tell you you have missed a note even if the ball hits a couple of nanoseconds after The app is fine on the easier tracks in the beginning but the further it goes on the more frustrating it gets trying to figure out when to play the note and when to wait longer.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your feedback on our Yousician: Guitar Lessons app. We apologize for any frustration you have experienced with the timing of the notes. We understand that the current system can be confusing, especially when it comes to knowing when to play the note. We appreciate your input and will take it into consideration for future updates. In the meantime, we recommend practicing with the slower tracks and gradually increasing the tempo to improve your timing skills. We hope this solution helps and we appreciate your support.
Buy it you won’t be disappointed
First thing is thanks to the app developers for making an old man happy. I played regularly in my teens and was self taught from books when I was kid so this puts things on a whole other level. Easy to follow steps and and original songs that are not there for you to impress your mates they are exercises to help you gain memory of the fret board. Don’t worry if you don’t like the songs being taught just see it as an exercise for your hand memory. I quickly moved through levels 1,2,3 and 4 as I had basic knowledge but picked up so much from doing the entry level stuff first. I bought the premium version and paid £50 for Black Friday deal so that is just 2 half hour lessons with a tutor! Definitely worth the money. Easy to use and an array of songs to learn. My only gripe would be if it had backing tracks. That would make it better so you could play the parts your learning to your favourite bands. The added bonus of the Metallica stuff is what made me get it. I would highly recommend
