Who’s it for?

Designed for busy delivery drivers and scooter riders, van couriers and private hire taxi drivers, the Sense app takes the hassle out of your insurance.

Here at Zego, we’ve been insuring self-employed drivers and riders since 2016. So when you take out a policy with us, you’re in safe hands.

What does it do?

Once you’ve downloaded and activated the app on your phone, you can:

Update your policy, personal details and vehicle information.
View and download your policy documents.
Get a driver score and insights to help you drive better.
Earn discounts when you renew (only available for private hire policies at the moment).
If you’re involved in an accident, take details and make a claim right from the app.

We’re rolling out new features all the time, so be sure to keep the app up-to-date on your phone!

Advice for developer

Mr app developer, i have one suggestion for you and i found out this issue with the app while i’m not in a country. This app is keep dropping my rating when i’m not in a country for the past 6 weeks. I need to inform zego as well as i’m not in a country so why my score is keep dropping. Well, the reason i found is that i’m using public transport here in Pakistan and also using my family cars with other drivers and which effecting my app rating. So could you please add a tool in the app which can restrict this app when someone leaves the country.

We especially love receiving feedback that we can pass onto our App Team, and we have passed your suggestion onto our Developers to look into. Your driver score is based on a 14-day rolling average of your performance, so as that 14 day window passes, you may see changes in your average score, even if you haven’t driven for a couple of days. Not the finished product

I have using this for a few weeks and I’m only a part-time driver, yet if I don’t use the app my score goes down, particularly if I have been using public transport. I have no control over how other people drive. But then my rating is affected if I turn off “always use” function. I don’t particularly want to be followed 24/7, however, I feel Zego blackmails me into using it otherwise the cost of my insurance would go up the following month, which has happened once where the cost went up from £185 to £245. Big increase.
Surely you should be able to tell when I am driving or why do you need to keep an eye on me at all times.

Once you activate Sense, our app senses your driving over time, so that over the full length of your policy, it can build up a clear understanding of your driving behaviours and habits. This means that Sense is quickly able to understand the difference between when you’re driving and when you’re sitting on a bus or train, or in your friend’s car. We know that Sense can take some time to build up this understanding of your driving, so we don’t punish you harshly for any one-off speeding, sharp cornering, or harsh braking at this time. Furthermore, we gather a large number of trips for scoring, which means that even if, once in a while we misclassify a trip it will have a residual impact on your overall score. Problem with IOS 15?

Upgraded to IPhone 13 Pro and all data transferred successfully from my IPhone 6S. Running latest version of IOS 15 and Sense is now “inactive” because the motion and fitness option is no longer available on the permissions list so cannot enable it. Tried everything. Force closing the app, removing app and reloading from cloud (without losing data), toggling background refresh. The motion setting is switched on in Privacy settings. There is nothing more I can try.

Thank you for leaving your review. If you have bought a new mobile we would recommend deleting and reinstalling Zego Sense directly from the App Store rather than the Cloud.
