Privacy
We know the things that you type on your phone are personal, so we’ve designed Gboard to keep your private information private.
What Gboard sends to Google:
• Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results.
• Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to let us know which features are used most often and to help us understand problems if the app crashes.
• If you use Gboard’s microphone, voice input will be sent to Google for transcription.
What Gboard doesn’t send to Google:
• Other than your searches and voice inputs, Gboard doesn't send anything you type to Google, whether it’s a password or chat with a friend.
• To help you with spelling and to predict searches you might be interested in, Gboard will store the words you type on your device. This data is not accessible by Google or by any apps, and can be cleared at any time.
• If you’ve turned on contacts search in Gboard search settings, this allows Gboard to search the contacts on your device so that you can easily share. None of these queries is sent to Google.
When you twinkle a theme the light/dark changes stop when dark mode turns on.Pls make it somehow to change to light/dark mode when we personalise both light and dark themes in the settings. Also pls have an option for disabling key clicks and have only haptic.
Works Ok but has a nasty bug
trtsak
I couldn’t find any better Swype keyboard for Greek that does not require Full Access (the similar one from Microsoft requires Full Access).A little frustration is that there is no way to deal with your personal dictionary (you can only delete everything). I would prefer a screen that showed all my words and allowed me to add/delete/update what I want. Now the bug. Sometimes (maybe related to phone restart, not sure) that you try to write somewhere, you are only presented with the Emojis/gif/etc keyboard and the globe button or ABC that would allow you to switch to something else do not appear! The only way out is go to settings and disable Gboard completely. And the even bigger problem is that if you enable it again in most cases it returns to the same situation and you have to disable and enable it again many times to return back to letters.I am at iOS 14.5.1 and I have a screenshot of the problem if required
Gboard covers portion of bottom lines (e.g. Viber) in new iOS 26
Mcimba
I have been using Gboard many years now since I like it more than Apple's native. In iOS 26, once you open Viber (or any other app), go to a thread and hit the bar at bottom to write something, it expands and covers a small portion of the bottom messages. If you go back and again inside the same thread, it is fixed (so not a Viber fault). However if you keep writing many words it will eventually be covered up again. Please fix and 5 stars :)
Lots of problems on iOS 17
Sotiris Kat
After updating to iOS 17, it's really hard to type fast because it only registers the keys if you tap exactly in the middle of them. It's also really hard to scroll through emojis and you need to do it really slowly for it to work. And themes don't even work, it just applies the default theme every time. Google needs to update the app because it's in a really bad state right now.
In this version we have:
• Language improvements for Cantonese (new Jyutping input method, fuzzy selection)
Version 2.3.19
