Booking a trip to your favourite destination has never been easier. Search flights and when you find the one that’s right for you book it on the app using Apple Pay or a saved payment card to check out swiftly, safely and securely. Your recent searches will be automatically saved for extra convenience when planning your trip.
Manage your trip
Keep track of your Aer Lingus flight bookings all in one place, under My Trips. View your upcoming trip details and itinerary, check in for your return trip, reserve a seat or even change your booking if you need to. Having the Aer Lingus app on your device is also a great way to keep informed with check in status, gate numbers and gate changes.

Check in for your flight and store your boarding pass safely in the app or in your Apple Wallet. Simple app. Makes travelling easy
If I could ask you to make one small change, please pre-populate the ‘surname’ field with the surname on the account when you’re logged in. Eg I go to add a flight to my app (booked via work travel agency) and I always have to type in my own surname despite being logged in. You could make this journey simpler.
Other than that, it is a a pleasure to use both for checking in and booking flights. Thanks for adding ‘pay with avios ‘ and Apple Pay. Both excellent additions
Failing at payment
I have tried to book flights twice in the past 4 days for the same destination. Each time the payment failed, even though there is money in my account. The main issue is that the money has already been taken out of my account for the flights and is now left pending (which I have to wait over a week to be lodged back into my account). I have used 2 different cards and both had the same issue.
I rang Air Lingus customer service on this and they said it was my banks network which must have crashed. Which is clearly not the case. I cannot cancel the pending transaction as it’s Air Lingus who are the merchant, but they can’t see the transaction on their end since their app failed in the payment process.
I’m now waiting €2,000 to be lodged back into my bank account so I can for the third time buy flights. If it works this time…
Caution not what it seems.
So, a month ago I contacted aer Lingus in relation to what seemed to be a glitch (rather than purposely overcharging customers). Still no response from aer Lingus. Going through the booking process, I was advised that I could add plus rather than saver for an additional €25 approx, so I selected that and continued but noticed that they’d added €40 to the price. I did check to see was this perhaps to include return leg, but it didn’t. So I contacted aer Lingus who were to get back as soon as they could. No reply from aer Lingus and the flight prices now have increased from just over €200 return to now over €500 return… thanks for nothing, Aer Lingus.
My advice to potential users of this app:- check the totals as you go to book.
Pity, as I like flying Aer Lingus, but due to them not rectifying this, I’m going with a different carrier…
