We have been working in the background to upgrade security.
This extra security layer is known as Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), which we refer to as Two Factor Authentication.
For this, you will be asked to complete a one-time set up when you log in and you will also notice changes when you make certain online payments.
This security upgrade will allow us to give you more exciting features in the future.

Good app overall
I have used this app for a long time and in general it’s very good. However I have three issues with it.
Firstly when I pay my Visa bill using the app, my account is debited instantly, but it can take a couple of days for my money to arrive in my Visa account. Where has it been all this time? In this day and age of instant cash transfers, it’s not really good enough.
My second issue is that I would like to be able to change my details in the app, for example, if I move house, I would like to be able to notify the bank through the app.
I recently wanted to order foreign currency. I couldn’t find a way to do it through the app, so I ended up ringing the bank. When I got through I couldn’t even order it over the phone, they wanted me to get a form and bring it in to them. Like most people, I work 9-5:30, when would you like me to call in exactly? Again, in this day and age that’s just not good enough.

Hi, Any bill payment from any financial institution will have a processing time and will have a maximum 2 business day turnaround, we are sorry that you are unhappy with this but unfortunately that's not something we can change just yet. In relation to updating your details, this is something that exists today on other AIB platforms like internet banking etc but it requires a card reader, as the app does not user the card reader we are looking at ways to introduce this option without the card ready while guaranteeing the same high level of security. In regards to the FX we did have this in the app previously but not many people used it so it was removed but we will discuss it here when making decisions on what's next for the app. Thank you for getting in touch!
App is good overall
The app is easy to use, user friendly interface and most of the options one would expect from a bank in this era.
The reason for only 3 stars is the lack of push notifications for incoming and outgoing transactions. Having to log in every time to check all is good is just not up to date with today’s pace of things.
The second reason would be the Watch not updating balance unless the phone is unlocked and even then it’s not working 70% of the time.
I understand one might sell this as a security feature, but let’s be honest, the only person who has access to the Watch while it’s on my wrist is me.
Otherwise, stability-wise, kudos to the devs for the good work. Very reliable app.
Great banking app!
This app is really great. Love being able to check my balance quickly, it’s handy when your in store and want to check your balance before making a purchase.
Really handy being able to transfer money immediately from one account to another.
There’s 2 things I’d love to see in the future, one is the ability to set up a standing order in the app. Being able to set up a standing order from my current account to online saver account without having to go in to the bank would be very handy.
The second is the ability to pause your bank card. I’ve seen this in other banks while living abroad. If you can’t find your bank card you can temporarily freeze it to give you a chance to look for it without having to permanently cancel the card.
