Paws Almanac is an app for iPhone and Apple Watch showing calendar related information, for instance name days, holidays, flag days and moon phases. Just like an almanac.

The iPhone app content is arranged into give tabs: Day, List, Calendar, World, and Settings

• Shows calendar information, e.g. name day, flag day, moon phase and week number, for the selected day. Default is current date.
• Displays sunrise, sunset and sun hours for your current location (option)
• Displays birthday of contacts (option)
• At the bottom of the page the names of the next day is shown.

• Shows all days of the current, or selected, year in a list, with basic calendar information such as name day and calendar events.
• Holidays are indicated with a red day number.
• Displays birthday of contacts (option)
• Search for names
• The selected date in List view, is used as the base date for Day View and World View.

• Shows almanac of current, or selected, year in a month/week calendar layout.
• Displays indication of holidays in red
• Displays official flag days, if such exist
• Displays changes in moon phases

• Shows additionally selected almanacs.
• If no additional almanacs are selected, a message hinting of the Settings view is displayed.

• Option to show sunrise and sunset information. (Requires authorisation to access location of the device to calculate the information.)
• Option to show your contacts' birthday in the Day and List views. (Requires authorisation to access contact on the device.)
• Select main country/region for almanac to show in Day View, List View, in the widget and on Apple Watch in the app and complication.
• Additional almanacs for World View can be activated in the Almanac selection view using switches to the right.
• Country with sub-regions, like Germany or Austria, have a button indicated by a plus sign ('+') next to the switch. Tap the button to show and select region almanac. When a regional almanac is shown, the regional flag (if it exists) is shown instead of the country flag. When a sub-region almanac is active, the regional or local holidays are presented in local views (Day View, List View, in widget and Apple Watch app and complication).

Widgets in iOS 14 make it possible to get almanac information right on your home screen. The widget displays information about day, week and month. In addition public holidays, flag and name days are shown. Information about sunrise and sunset is now visible on the widgets, if the feature is turned on in the app settings. The large widget size also has a month calendar.

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch app lets you show name days and other information in a complication on watch faces. The information shown in the complication varies depending on the selected watch face.

The Apple Watch app can be installed independently of the iPhone app. The iPhone app is needed to customise setting. By default the app uses your iPhone's region setting to determine what almanac region to show.
