This is incredibly good for new players and experienced players I was mediocre when I first got this app and now after 1 year I am 2340 beating grandmasters the things that have helped me a lot is playing against my coach (mine is Hikaru definitely recommend him btw) and playing against bot that are better then me such as Magnus Carlsen 2882 and the engine 3200 that has helped me a lot by playing against players or bots that are better then me really like this app definitely the best chess app better then lichess by a mile I definitely recommend this app.

Excellent app. It would be 5 stars if there was on offline mode, and the ability to draw arrows. My 4g can be quite annoying at times and so don’t always have internet. During these times I can’t make full use of my diamond membership. As for the arrows. To move pieces you can drag them or hit the piece then hit the square, maybe you could implement some optional feature that disables the drag to move and instead have it drag to draw arrows. Or something like that. Oh also needs the ability to download puzzles for when offline. Changed from 4 stars to two stars. I lost 4/5 games today due to “abandonment” in reality it was poor connection, each match I would disconnect for no more than 20 seconds at a time, most of the time I would reconnect with 10 seconds. It happens at most 3 times during a match. Shouldn’t be punished for bad connection, it’s chess not a first person shooter. If it’s that big a deal allow 2 minutes total for disconnection and then automatic forefit, you shouldn’t lose because you disconnected twice for a grand total of 30 whopping seconds. Not everybody is fortunate enough to have amazing internet. It can also run down your clock.

The app is good, but its so close to being perfect that it becomes a little annoying.. for example:- you cant work on puzzles offline. Why? I get the whole profile oriented approach, but can it not cache the puzzles until it goes back online? Other apps do this successfully.- the daily puzzle is not available at the start of a new day in my location. Maybe im missing something in my settings, but i need to wait until midday depending on where i am in the world to do it. Seems like its set on north america’s clock. I enjoy doing a few puzzles in the morning, so this is pretty annoying when you cant keep a streak going..- every now and then it has issues logging me in, or logs me out of the app randomly if ive been offline for a while. Again, why? Should it not be able to allow me to use it offline and save the progress for when i go back online?Again, the app is good and i enjoy it, and this is why i feel strongly about the small details that bring it down when i think it could be perfect.. hope the feedback helps the dev team

Since early July: 1). This app now empties phone battery quickly, much faster than before. (Likely due to their excessive use of cookies gathering their users’ personal data and monitoring activity across all sites you browse. :/2). App freezes often at end of a tournament game with 0.01 seconds on the clock and still, 2+ years on, no ‘home’ button nor any relevant option to go to next game or to exit current page; the options from that page are limited to ‘resign’, ‘draw’, go to ‘settings’, etc but ntg gets you out of that stuck game. Even exiting the app doesn’t reset it. Sometimes restarting your phone fixes it, but lately even that doesn’t resolve it all the time.
