Description
This official Leap Top-Up app from Transport for Ireland (TFI) allows you to check your balance, top-up your TFI Leap Cardand purchase tickets - directly from your NFC-enabled iPhone.
Open the app and simply hold your TFI Leap Card to the back, top of your iPhone to instantly check your balance, collect a pre-paid ticket, or top-up your card – anytime, anywhere.

Note: The Leap Top-up app's minimum requirement is an iPhone 7 running iOS 13.0.
Due to the NFC chips used on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus some users may experience scanning issues or delays when scanning their TFI Leap Card. If the app fails to read the card it is recommended to adjust the position of the card.

It’s an alright app
It’s a great app to check the balance on your leap card and easily top up from as little as €5 without an topping up fee like in other places. The only downside I experience using this app is when the app reads scans the leap card and reads it, after successfully reading your leap card the app still won’t open. Plus, it can be slow reading the leap card and would even say that there’s an error. Also, in other cases the app can close automatically while using the app. It works and doesn’t at times, there’s no consistent at all. I’ve tried closing and reopening the app, I’ve tried restarting my phone and these didn’t work either. Pls fix this issue
A complete joke
This app, was terrible when it was released and now they’ve found a way to make it even worse. Where it used to take forever to scan a card, if it even did, now scans the card but won’t let you pay. After trying to pay about forty times it fail/ to load after you had approved in your banking app. This is especially frustrating because Dublin Bus only accepts leap cards and coins, and seen as I don’t carry around a bag of coins (even if you had coins, you would never have enough because of the extortionate prices) this app is very necessary to top up on the go.
Most bus drivers are decent enough to let you on because they are aware of the complete idiocy that is TFI, although some are not.
For the record, my phone and the app has all the latest updates.
Add a low balance notification
App is simple, view balance and top up. A low balance reminder needs to be added, when your in a rush you don't get to open and check the balance of your card, sometimes you don't even think of doing it, then when you get on the bus you've to stand and top it up. Add a low balance reminder like everyone other finance app.
Also very rarely works and the bus driver is looking at you with 10 heads as to why you've no money on your card. Need to train the bus drivers to understand that the app doesn't always work it's ridiculous. No communication at all throughout TFI.
