Give us back the full information

At one time, Met Éireann prided itself on giving comprehensive and detailed forecasts. I was totally appalled when they decided to retire their old website. Has anyone in Met Éireann ever heard the expression “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”? The new website and app seem to have “fixed” a lot of things for the worse. The new “maps” are patchy - the pressure gradients are missing, in some places on the map app. On the website, Ireland is cut off at both extremities because it isn’t scaled properly in its view panel. What are they trying to achieve, if they can’t communicate the old essentials - the full, concise information that we’ve all come to depend on?

Needs tweaking

While I can see that the intention of this app is good, it is overall a poor app. Probably should have been tested by a bigger pool of people before releasing it as it needs just a few tweaks to turn it into an excellent app.
It is very very slow to respond.
The Atlantic Charts are missing - I am used to having these so that I can interpret the weather myself.
The Rainfall radar shows no rain when there is light rain falling on me.
The Predicted Rainfall has said ‘no rain’ when it the day turned out to have light rain - this happened twice.
It would be good to have all the day’s forecast summarised in one page, rather than having to tap forward and back to lots of pages - making the icons smaller would be one way to do this.

Andy Listens ,

Shame about the update.

Look I know in general people dislike change but the latest update is such a disappointment even from a purely UI point of you. I don’t mind the change to the hourly view full of information 99% of people don’t need but the daily view as soon as you open the app is terrible. The information is smaller and less graphical making it harder to read the information at a glance and especially more difficult to recommend to new users. I don’t understand why I need the map taking up half the screen, I’ve no interest in the daily written forecast. This used to be such an easy app to recommend because the information was so glanceable/readable.
