What's New in Rollvane 1.2 Filter Compensation Calculator (new tab) Film photographers who shoot with optical filters - colored B&W contrast filters, ND filters, polarizers - now have a dedicated tool for calculating the exact exposure compensation. Pick your lighting condition and ISO, then pick a filter from the bundled library of 21 filters (Yellow, Orange, Red, Deep Red, Green, Blue, ND2 through ND1000, Circular and Linear Polarizer, Infrared R72, and more). Rollvane shows the uncompensated Sunny-16 pair next to the corrected pair, with every equivalent filtered aperture+shutter combination in a grid. If the compensated shutter lands at 1 second or longer, a reciprocity warning prompts you to cross-check the Reciprocity tab. Filter field on each frame The Frame Editor now has an optional Filter field so you can note which filter was on the lens for any exposure - e.g. "Yellow", "ND8", "Polarizer". The filter appears in the Dev Sheet and in the CSV export (new `filter` column). The frame grid shows a small indicator on any logged frame that has a filter noted. Filter data sourced from: Kodak Professional Photoguide (R-28), Hoya filter specifications, Ilford "Filters for Black-and-White Photography" tech note. What's New in Rollvane 1.1 Reciprocity Failure Calculator Long exposures need extra time because film's reciprocity law breaks down at 1 second and beyond. The new Reciprocity tab corrects your metered time for 30+ film stocks using manufacturer-published power-law data (Ilford's 2024 data sheet, Kodak Professional guides, Fujifilm data). Pick your stock and metered time; the full correction table updates instantly. Fuji Acros II is correctly flagged as exempt — no correction needed up to 2 minutes. Roll Stats After logging frames, each roll now shows a light-condition distribution (with progress bars) and an aperture spread chart. See at a glance whether you shot mostly in open shade or cloudy bright, and which apertures you reached for most. Export: Dev Sheet and CSV Two new export buttons appear on every roll with logged frames. Dev Sheet generates a plain-text development note — it reads your per-frame EV compensation, works out the overall push/pull stop count, prints the resulting development instruction, and appends the full frame log. Hand it to your lab or paste it into your darkroom notes. CSV exports all frame metadata (aperture, shutter, condition, subject, ISO 8601 timestamp, and more) in a format compatible with Lightroom, Capture One, or any spreadsheet.
