Very happy with this app, it is intuitive and fast, easy to get the hang of, I chose it over the rest as it is not sore on resources, down to it not having gimmicks or bloatware features that don’t belong in a txt editor. I like how it has ftp, iCloud WebDAV and google drive access, these are the main contenders in my work, Textastic fits my needs perfectly, it costs, but it doesn’t cost like trying to work with inferior buggy offerings does, that’s what I paid to avoid.
Excellent app for writers
vargafe
I’m not a programmer or a web designer, I write stuff. Out of all the apps I tried that claim to be perfect writers’ apps, this is the one that has worked best for me. I love the fact that I can organise my texts on my devices as well as in the cloud in a clear folder structure which I can see on the left, and I absolutely love that it is future-proof and compatible, using txt format that can be opened in other apps for further processing if necessary.
Great coding app!

Fantastic app. Great user interface, preview in app or with Safari, and a really stable ftp client to boot. It also works really well on iPhone as well as on iPad. Great work and well worth the paltry sum they charge for it!
Recent update messed it up
artkavanagh
I was very fond of this app as a writing tool but the recent update ruined a few things. I created a new text document on iCloud and at first couldn’t find it. (It was there in the Files app but couldn’t be opened from there.) Eventually I did find it, but I don’t know how. More importantly, the word count, the most useful item on the File Properties screen, now falls off the bottom of the screen. And it *was* working so well!
- Added syntax definitions for TOML, Kotlin, and Jsonnet.
- Improved automatic syntax detection for files like “Makefile”, “Cargo.lock”, and “Gemfile”: If no match is found by file extension, the full file name is used as a fallback.
