Wonderful app for my needs
AnantAggarwal1981
Inshorts is a fantastic app for all those who either do not have enough time to read through entire newspapers or for those who don't like to get into the intricacies of each and every news story that they read. Inshorts basically utilises the potential of the new-age gadgets to the maximum. Though the content as well as the layout could gradually see certain advances as the Time progresses, yet it remains my go-to app for consuming news on the go. It helps you keep-in-the-know without having to delve into matter which basically does nothing more than improving your English skills, and you also always have the option of reading whole articles too if that's what entices you. My favorite place in the app remains the 'My feed' section as that's the place which gives me knowledge about all aspects of the society, thereby making me a master-of-all-trades rather than becoming a jack-of-one!!
Categorisation of News is flawed, Filtering through Relevancy is useless

Inshorts started off as an amazing app through which anyone could be updated regarding current events quickly. I used Inshorts when it initially released, and I found it to be interesting and very informative. However, I cannot say the same now. I installed Inshorts a few weeks ago, and I’m being flooded with entertainment/celebrity news. I used the ‘Relevancy’ feature to block any such news, but alas, I’m still getting entertainment/celebrity news, in fact, I’m getting more such notifications now. Moreover, the categorisation of the news and the relevancy filter do not work effectively. I have blocked other categories of news as well, but today I receive a notification saying ‘MS Dhoni playfully responds when reminded of his upcoming birthday’. The news is categorised as Sports. I am not sure how this is being categorised as sports, I understand that Dhoni is one of the biggest sports personalities in India, however, this does not mean that any news pertaining to him should come under sports.I may be wrong but it looks like you have multiple categories tagged to a particular news piece, and due to this the the Relevancy filter is only able to filter out the pieces with only that category. App wise it’s probably a lot more difficult to come up with a fix for this, but I think appropriate categorisation of news articles should help you resolve this issue.
The quality of news is deteriorating!

I’ve been using InShorts since the day it launched, and have been a big advocate of its style of news delivery and other features of the app. While I see that the app is continuously improving, the content quality is gradually deteriorating.First off, the personalisation under “My Feed” is really broken. You guys need to fix the algorithm behind this, since the news under My Feed is nothing but “Most Popular” rather than what I typically would like to read.Secondly, what’s up with the increasing number of snippets just being “User tweets ... about ....”? It is extremely disappointing to see random people tweeting random things about random events being covered as “News”. Set some standard for yourselves guys, you are disrupting the way news is consumed in this age, and quality content should by your primary goal. I am uninstalling the app purely because I am fed up of multiple rehashes of the same news, boring “trending” topics, any and every celebrity activity passing off as news, and in some cases - rather opinionated news snippets that are not “just facts”.Hoping to return to this, once you guys get your content sorted
Thanks for updating Inshorts app. We've updated our iOS app with bug fixes and changes to improve your overall experience.
