My Cloud Home 4+

The service is cool, having my personal cloud at home makes me feel safe about my data but there’s just one problem with the app.
I have to keep the app open and keep checking if the upload is going on, a lot of time the upload stops once the phone is locked I have to keep the app open.
Awaiting for a new update where it can upload even if the phone is locked.

How do you “copy” files from one folder to another. I could only “move” them around, which is painful and risky.

I’m sure masses (who’s bought a My Cloud Home) have already established that Plex is anyway a pain, but I can live with it, no problem. That said, I couldn’t find a straightforward way of restricting streaming of content. I read somewhere it can be done, but haven’t dug deep yet. Imagine this statement - I’ll have to dig deep for this simple and much needed capability which allows me to choose which content gets streamed and which doesn’t

Working with the attached USB extension drive is more of a pain than a capability. I write software, and I’m unable to comprehend what sort of file management app restricts the user to just the top level folders, and not allow going into any of it. What’s worse is, there is no way data from that USB drive can be read, unless copied to the MyCloudHome folders, and no way to write data to the attached USB.

Let’s not even get started on the locating the drives as discoverable over a local network. The only folder you can write to is public by default and you can’t change that behaviour.

Net net - the app is nothing more than kindergarten project work.

I now think purchasing this product was a mistake. I should have preferred Synology or any other.

Previously WD my clouds have Sync option for Google Photos. App is far better now just we need Sync option back to WD. Especially with google photos.
Sync with Facebook and Insta working ok, not sure why i need to manually log-in after every 15 to 20 days for enabling sync.
