Download a read-only nGenePlayer library from iCloud for offline playback with Repeat One, A–B loops, waveforms, thumbnails, and background controls.
nGenePlayer for iPhone and iPad is a read-only companion to nGenePlayer for Mac. It downloads a library explicitly published from the Mac through the same Apple Account, verifies each file, and keeps completed media available for offline playback.
ONE-WAY ICLOUD LIBRARY
• Tap Sync to retrieve the current Mac-published catalog without changing it.
• See progress from the beginning, including completed files, verified bytes, active transfers, elapsed time, deferred items, and failures.
• Choose 1 to 12 simultaneous downloads before Sync starts; the default is 6.
• Retry interrupted or unavailable files while preserving media already verified.
• Reset only the device’s offline cache and download the entire current library again. Nothing on the Mac or in iCloud is deleted.
• Continue playing verified media while remaining downloads proceed.
FOLDER-BASED BROWSING
Browse the folder hierarchy published by the Mac and search by filename or path. Download states show whether a file is remote, downloading, ready, or needs attention.
After verified downloads are complete, reusable local video thumbnails replace generic video icons where supported. Thumbnails are cached instead of being regenerated whenever the library is opened.
FOCUSED PLAYBACK
• Play compatible audio and video from the verified offline library.
• Repeat One is enabled by default.
• Mark A and B to repeat a selected section, then clear the range when finished.
• Display a seekable waveform to help choose loop points for supported audio tracks.
• Scrub through media or move backward and forward by 15 seconds.
• Open the full player directly from the mini player.
• Rotate to landscape for an immersive video presentation.
• Continue audio playback in the background.
SYSTEM MEDIA CONTROLS
Control play, pause, seeking, and 15-second skips from the Lock Screen, Control Center, and other iOS Now Playing surfaces. Current local playback metadata is provided only to Apple’s system media controls.
PRIVATE AND READ-ONLY
No nGenePlayer account is required. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking and uses no developer-operated server.
The app reads only the private nGenePlayer iCloud container associated with the Apple Account signed in to the device. It cannot publish, rename, edit, or remove the Mac library or its iCloud catalog.
Verified media and generated thumbnails are stored only in the app’s local offline cache. Reset Offline Library removes those device-local copies and retrieves the published library again. No media, playback history, or diagnostics are sent to the developer.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITS
A compatible library must first be published with nGenePlayer for Mac while both devices use the same Apple Account and iCloud Drive is enabled.
Download scheduling and transfer speed are managed partly by iCloud and may vary with network conditions, available storage, power state, and Apple service availability.
Playback uses Apple’s AVPlayer on iPhone and iPad. A format playable in the Mac version through VLCKit may not be supported by iOS. Waveform generation also requires an AVFoundation-readable audio track.
