FreeviewMap is the essential tool for anyone setting up a Freeview aerial in the UK. Find nearby transmitters, calculate the perfect bearing, check line of sight, and aim your aerial — all from your iPhone or iPad.
FIND TRANSMITTERS
Discover every Freeview transmitter near you using GPS or by entering a postcode. Sort by distance, signal strength, or power. Filter by search radius and minimum power to focus on the stations that matter.
AIM YOUR AERIAL
Use the live compass bearing to find the direction to any transmitter. The interactive map draws a line from your location to the station. Drag your position pin to test from different spots — perfect for planning where to mount your aerial.
AR POINTER
Point your phone's camera toward the transmitter and follow the on-screen crosshair. Chevrons at the screen edges guide you which way to turn. The crosshair turns green and gives a haptic tap when you're locked on target.
CHECK LINE OF SIGHT
The Signal Path Profile shows the terrain elevation between you and the transmitter. See at a glance whether hills or obstructions might block your signal before you install.
COVERAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
FreeviewMap analyses all nearby transmitters and recommends the best one for your location based on estimated signal strength and line-of-sight data. It also suggests the correct aerial group and shows which channels you'll receive.
COMPLETE STATION DATA
Every transmitter includes full technical details: power (kW ERP), aerial group, polarisation, site and antenna height, UHF channel numbers for all six multiplexes (PSB1-3 and COM4-6), estimated field strength, and coverage type (Full Freeview or Freeview Lite).
CHANNEL GUIDE
See exactly which TV and radio channels are carried on each multiplex, from BBC One and ITV to Dave and Film4.
