The FTA launched the Tourist Refund Scheme in November 2018 following the introduction of 5% VAT in January 2018. To get your refund, you just need to show your purchases and get them validated when you leave the country. It's a way to save some money while enjoying your shopping experience in the UAE. ## Who is eligible? - VAT refunds in the UAE are available to overseas tourists aged 18 and above.
