L’ho utilizzata spesso in Thailandia, sia per il servizio di trasporto sia per l’asporto. Nella maggior parte dei casi mi sono trovata bene con gli autisti, tuttavia in più di un’occasione ho vissuto esperienze spiacevoli: cancellazioni all’ultimo minuto e persino una truffa. In queste situazioni non ho ricevuto alcun supporto e i reclami sono rimasti senza risposta. Questo evidenzia una carenza di controllo da parte della piattaforma e, di fatto, non scoraggia ma bensì legittima comportamenti scorretti da parte degli autisti. Di conseguenza ho perso fiducia nel servizio e non lo consiglierei; in futuro mi affiderò ad app concorrenti.

The app is fine, but drivers do what they want

I have been in Thailand for one month and - apart from Bangkok and maybe Chiang Mai - every time you try to book a cab with the “just Grab” option, drivers will accept you at first and less than a minute later they ALL text you with an excuse to not pick you up. “I have a flat tyre”, “other passengers got aboard, I can’t pick you up”, “there’s been an accident” and so on. The worst thing is they don’t even cancel your booking, so you’re forced to cancel from your end, at risk of being charged by the company. All the drivers want you to book them with the more expensive plan, in fact the few times I tried they all accepted and arrived quickly. So the app actually works perfectly and it has no flaws, but there’s no control over the drivers’ behavior and eventually event local tuk tuk are cheaper, so there’s no point using it.
Some say bugs are the future of food: They are rich in protein and can be sustainably produced for mass consumption. In fact, some 2 billion humans on the planet eat bugs as part of their diet. But when the bug is in an app, we won't want you to eat it. And we certainly won't try to make more of it.
