We've been busy! Here's what's new in Sutra: Try Before You Buy Every CBZ comic and comic-shaped MOBI book now opens with a free 7-page preview — read the first 7 pages of anything in your library before deciding whether to unlock Sutra Pro. Reading Statistics A new Stats tab: time read, streak, a swipeable activity chart, and your reading progress across every book in one place. WebDAV Server Support Browse and download EPUB/PDF files straight from a WebDAV server — Synology, and any other WebDAV host — with self-signed certificates supported via a one-time trust prompt. Manga Support Read comics right-to-left, top-to-bottom — tap left to advance, tap right to go back, and panel order flows top-right to bottom-left. Switch any comic between Regular and Manga from the reader's Aa menu; it's remembered per book. Comic panel detection now has dedicated tuning for manga-style pages, on top of general improvements to how accurately panels are cropped for every comic. Tons of Fixes and Improvements Smoother, more accurate continuous scrolling that reliably resumes exactly where you stopped, easier connectivity to self-hosted servers without HTTPS configured (with clearer guidance for Tailscale and similar VPN setups), faster and more reliable loading for large libraries, more accurate comic panel detection across the board, and a fix for books occasionally opening to a blank page. Also New Two-Panel Reading on iPad (EPUB, MOBI, and PDF books show a facing-page spread in landscape), pinch-to-zoom on images, a new high-contrast Contrast reading theme, page-curl animation for comics, and a smarter library with on-device caching, per-library filtering, and bulk collection management. Thanks for reading with Sutra — happy reading!

We've been busy! Here's what's new in Sutra: Read Comics Panel by Panel A brand new way to read comics: Sutra detects each page's individual panels, and a tap or page-flip advances panel by panel instead of jumping the whole page at once — every close-up lands exactly where the artist intended. Works on CBZ, PDF, and fixed-layout comic EPUB/MOBI, and it's free for everyone, no purchase required. Just Your Files — No Server Needed Already have a folder of books or comics? Import EPUB, PDF, CBZ, or MOBI files straight from the Files app — no self-hosted server, no account, no setup. Import a whole folder at once and Sutra grabs real covers and metadata automatically. Komga Support Komga is now a first-class server type alongside Kavita and Calibre, with the same page-accurate two-way progress sync Kavita users already love — read your Komga comics and manga panel by panel too. CBZ Comics Open .cbz comic archives in a fixed-layout, zoomable page reader — and read them panel by panel just like everything else. DRM-Free MOBI Support Import your .mobi files straight from the Files app and read them right in Sutra. Sutra Pro A friendly one-time purchase — no subscription, ever — that unlocks Komga libraries, CBZ comic reading, and DRM-free MOBI books. EPUB, PDF, local file imports, and Panel Mode itself stay free forever, as always. Thanks for reading with Sutra — happy reading!

Mark Your Books with Color-Coded Highlights Select any passage in EPUB or PDF, choose a color, and it highlights persistently while reading. Every highlight auto-saves to Settings → Text Highlights and syncs via iCloud to all your devices. Tap a highlight to change its color or delete it. Browse all highlights for a book directly in the reader's Bookmarks sheet. Improved Definition Lookup No more automatic pop-ups when you select text. Now you control what happens: tap Define for the definition, Highlight to mark it, Copy to save it, or Search the library — all in one convenient menu bar. Your Series, Organized Automatically If your Kavita or Calibre server has series metadata, Sutra groups your books by series in the Collections shelf — so you can browse and pick up the next book without losing your place in a sequence.

A big update: a real page-curl animation for turning pages, a full dark theme (Day, Night, or follow System), and Left-Handed Page Turns for one-handed reading — all new in Settings. Series information now comes through from Kavita libraries, with a proper Series sort. Standard Ebooks connects with your Patrons Circle email. Plus a wide pass of reliability fixes: more accurate cross-device and Kavita progress sync, large self-hosted libraries no longer silently losing books from search, and a range of smaller fixes across search, downloads, and the reader.
