Perl利用者が減っているので致し方ないと思いますが、個人Web siteではまだまだCGIを設置しますし、現在も新しいCGIが配布と開発がされているので、おしいです。無料ではいちばんテキストエディタとしてもFTPクライアントとしても使い勝手がよかったです！
