Overall, the LMT Metro app provides a really good experience. The UI is clean, straightforward, and easy to navigate, making it simple to find the information you need.One feature that would make the app even better is showing the user’s current location on the map. This would make it much easier to figure out directions from your current location to the nearest metro stop or station. Adding a simple “Locate Me” option or GPS-based navigation would be very useful.The app already has a solid and user-friendly foundation, and with a few of these improvements, it could become an even more useful everyday companion for metro users.

Overall good service and a good app, with good security and privacy. If you want a good experience with traveling day to day around Colombo, this should be your top choice. The app responds well and is almost unrecognizable that this is run by the government. Seriously it’s that good. The only downside is that you can’t pay for your friends or family who are traveling with you, and there are no week passes or monthly passes. The map and location services are subpar compared to the technology that we have today. You can’t locate yourself on the map and the map doesn’t show how far you are from the nearest metro bus stop. The system only gives you a vague idea about how filled or empty the bus is, as it doesn’t show how much seats are left available to be seated. Sometimes the GPS systems on the metro itself act quite strangely, sometimes under predicting or over predicting the estimate time of arrival of a metro. I’ve personally had dealt with this issue once , where i had to run and then cross the main road to catch the next metro, which was not convenient at all. It would be great if those areas were looked at. I’d definitely come back and rate 5 stars if these are dealt with. Edit - most of the issues mentioned above has been dealt with and the service is very pleasant. Though there are still some issues, as sometimes the busses doesn’t run according to the time table( mostly late in the evening where the time table shows a bus at 8 pm for an example but the there is no bus allocated). Also on some routes, between two metro stops the gap is so inconvenient or sometimes in between those two stops there are some places where many people would benefit from if there is another stop I between. Personally id love to see a metro stop between Werahara and Boralasgamuwa. ( there was a stop there before but it was removed for some reason) also there is a huge distance between Thummulla and Kolpitiya . I’m very sure that there are so much more people that will agree with me on this topic of adding more metro stops for the convenience of the people. Also the estimate arrival times are very vague most of the times.

Great app so far. Add some user guide videos on app usage like how to pay, how to buy tickets for multiple passengers from single phone. Another feedback is add a feature to view how many vacant seats are available on busses that are on a route. Where CityBus failed is when you realize a bus is full only after waiting 15 mins for a bus to arrive. With all tickets handled electronically, it would be possible to gather this information for all busses on a route. If the app can show how many passengers are on the bus, passengers can make a decision to wait or to look for alternatives.

The app has good potential, but the interface needs to be much more user-friendly for Sri Lankan passengers. At the moment, finding the correct location and understanding the route can be confusing, especially when the destination or return-side location is not clearly shown on the map.For someone who is not very familiar with technology, the app can be quite difficult to understand. I personally tried explaining how to use it to someone, but even then it was not easy for them to understand.The main goal should be to make it simple enough that anyone can open the app, enter where they are and where they want to go, and immediately understand which bus to take and where to get down. A simpler interface with clearer locations, routes, and directions would make this much more useful for everyday Sri Lankan commuters.
