We’ve taken our route support to a new level. While on your Marmot Tours holiday, our easy-to-use interface will support you on the road, in addition to the seamless support you’ll receive from your two guides in their support vehicles. Here’s how it works:
DOWNLOAD A WEEK BEFORE YOUR HOLIDAY
A week before your holiday starts, the app will be populated automatically with your itinerary details. We recommend you download the app and explore its features before leave home. Use the app to explore your cycling route in the week before your trip starts, or in the evenings before each day’s ride.
ROUTE OPTIONS, RIDE PROFILES & CLIMB GRADIENTS
You’ll be able to see a description plus a map of your route options for each day. Check out the day’s ride stats and gradients too, so choosing the best route for you just got even easier.
SAFETY AND SUPPORT NOTES
Have useful information at your fingertips about van support, cafe and lunch stops, hotels, bike storeroom, dinner timings and more.
INTERACTIVE MAP
See a fully interactive map so you can track your progress on the route.
UPDATES ON THE ROAD
Road works, café closures … we’ll update the app with all the latest feedback we get from our guides, to help make your ride as seamless as possible.
OPTIONAL TRACKING FEATURE
When enabled, your guides can track you, enhancing their existing sixth sense of where you all are on the route! You can disable the tracking feature at any time.
OPTIMISE YOUR BATTERY
Because you’ll usually be out on the bike all day, we’ve designed the app so that it won’t place a high demand on your phone’s battery. If your phone battery is not as youthful as it once was, you could put a battery pack in your day bag and give your phone a boost when you see the van at lunch or cafe stops.
DATA USAGE
When you first login to the app, all the information for your holiday will download to your phone. This means you can use the app while cycling during your holiday even with your data roaming turned off. However, if you choose to use the tracking feature of the app, or share your location with your guides, this will require a small amount of mobile data.
GPS ROUTE FILES
We’ll continue to provide our comprehensive GPS route files for you to download to your handlebar navigation device for on-the-road route finding.
