Best Money Managing App I’ve used

I've used Spendee for 3 months and the app really helped me with managing money. It is really easy to add transactions and easy to check my past spends. There are many different icon selections to label your transactions, the icons are simple, easy to understand and very helpful. There is also a graph that shows your past and current transactions. I think the most helpful thing to me was being able to see how much I've spent/made this month or in a year. Spendee is really useful but there are some negative parts about it like, creating an account takes too long, the transaction chart is too small and it is only a mobile app. When I first downloaded this app it took too much time creating an account, I used my apple account to sign up and it took around 10 mins just to load. The chart/graph is really helpful but it is hard to look at because it was too small. In my opinion if the app had a desktop version it would be awesome, because right now it is only available on mobile. It also may be more popular than usual because people would download it again on their computer.

Took me a while but I’ve finally met the app that meets my needs. I’ve used dozens of finance, tracking and budgeting app over the years but Spendee’s ease of use and simple ui is what really pulls me in.

But what I find so great about Spendee is how it handles separation of wallets delivering stats and analytics for all or each wallet in a fine detail at a glance. You can of course dig deeper.

I’m really loving the app so far and I’ve just started using the budgeting feature. Here’s to hoping it’ll be a blast like tracking my expenses is.

Don’t just take my word though. Take Spendee a spin for a week - they have free trial. After which you’ll see what I mean.

p/s: I’m on yearly Plus subscription instead of Premium because I hate automatic tracking (syncing with bank). I’ve used Salt and various other apps before and with so many spending across various accounts, they don’t really help me be really aware of my spending. Unlike manually tracking them myself and made me go “omg why do I spend this much” while manually entering each expense. But then again, to each their own.

Let down by new version and UI

As a long time Spendee user, I’m quite disappointed on the new version and UI.

Spendee 5 takes longer time to load. It’s quite frustrating in the event where you just want to quickly add an expenses. Not forget to mention sometimes it may failed to initialize the app at all.

While the new UI looks refreshing but it just feel very clunky overall. Add new transaction with the “+” button which position at the bottom right corner is very annoying. The button is hovering on top of old entries which I have accidentally hit for so many times.

On the add the transaction screen, the transaction category window is overlapping with the iOS home bar which again I have accidentally trigger countless of time in the motion of swiping up, result in exiting the app to iOS Home Screen instead of seeing more categories.

Create a new transaction appears to be a sequential action: tab “+” > select category > add the amount > add the transaction. If I would like to add a note or select a different date in between, it would requires 2 taps to get out of those sequence window. That, is not pleasant.

Spendee is an excellent app and I hope the team is able to look into this and improve the UI experience.
