WhatsApp from Meta is a free messaging and calling app used by over 2 billion people across 180+ countries. It's super simple, reliable and private, making it perfect for staying in touch with your friends and family worldwide. WhatsApp works across mobile, tablet, and desktop even on slow connections, with no subscription fees*.
Private messaging and calls across the world
Your privacy is our priority. With end-to-end encryption, you can be sure that your personal messages and calls stay between you and who you send them to. And no one, not even WhatsApp, can read or listen to them.
Simple and secure connections, right away
All you need is your phone number - no usernames or logins needed. Easily view your contacts on WhatsApp and start messaging. And what's more, you can easily link your other devices, including iPads, for seamless connectivity.
High quality voice and video calls
Enjoy free, secure video and voice calls with up to 32 people for free. Your calls work across devices, even on slower connections, using your phone or tablet’s Internet service.
Group chats to keep you in contact
Stay close to friends and family through end-to-end encrypted group chats and calls. Share messages, photos, videos and documents across mobile, tablet, and desktop. You can also use call links and screen-sharing to make group calls and collaboration easy.
Stay connected in real time
You can share your location with those in your individual or group chats while using WhatsApp on your mobile phone. Or record a voice message for those moments when just text isn't good enough.
Share daily moments through Status
Share your everyday life with those who matter. With Status you can share text, photos, video, and GIF updates that disappear after 24 hours. You're always in control of who sees your status. Just choose who you want to share it with - all your contacts or selected ones. And bring your everyday to life.

This is a great service, but this new update should be optional. I mute chats because sometimes the amount of chats and msgs is excessive. But the notification alerts me to there being messages and if it didn’t ring I know who it’s likely from. Now I will have to open the app to see if I received a message and I don’t agree with that. There should be other options too: Such as blocking someone’s status from showing up. I don’t mean hiding it through a “mute status”. The only way to not see someone’s status is if they block you from seeing it. Which is great. But it would be nice if instead of just muting someone’s status, we could stop them from showing up. This should be done individually. Same with the read receipt thing, doesn’t have to go both ways. People should individually chose whether the other person sees blue ticks, without it affecting their choice. But all in all, I think it’s doing well.
Not possible to search names on status

Dear team, thank you for the hard work. The app is getting better as times passes by. I am writing to report a bug.Since January, when I was using an iPhone 7, it crashed (closing itself) whenever I open stickers. I thought the phone had issues and I upgraded to an iPhone 11, but the issue is still there and I don’t know what to do. I have closed and reopened the app, I restarted my device, I updated the app and the software and finally deleted the app and then re-downloaded it, but nothing changed. I would be happy if you could solve this issue. Thank in advance!
New features

Whatsapp is a very powerful app, but also invasive, as long as I have a phone number on my contact I can chat with the person.I thin that the first time that we start talking (or being able to see profile and status), one of the persons should send a request to “join” my “profile”Secondly, when a group chat is created, ppl should be invited to join and not just open your app and see that you are in a new group and sometimes with thousand messages.Once again, is a very powerful app but ver invasive
Introduce even better Storage Management System
Mr.Bilay
Great Job, the developers are doing an amazing job so farI think that the app has to manage storage far better than it does, for instance forwarded media shouldn't be stored multiple times, once that item is stored the app should be able to identify for future, once someone forward it again no need to re download it. Maybe the best way was to attribute unique names or ID to these media files.
We update the app regularly to fix bugs, optimize performance and improve the experience. Thanks for using WhatsApp!
