Parkable 4+

Most incredible app for its use!

I’ve changed moved office to an area where there’s no free parking and I was very worried that my life was going to become very difficult. I was told about Parkable and now parking at work is stress free! I reserve a park in the morning, park for a very good price then turn it off when I leave. It would be good to get a push notification when you approached your parked car to remind you to turn of the meter as it’s very easy to forget.

Not a good experience

Unfortunately I downloaded the app, paid for parking for a 24 hour period $40 only to be sent an email to move my car because the space allocated was reserved. So I had to move my car to on street parking even though the time I had paid for wasn’t ending for another 6 hours. I replied to the email that asked me to move asking for advice of how to change my parking space & only received a ‘We have received your enquiry & will reply shortly’ this never happened.

I then suggested that car parks that are occupied should not be selectable, as I was never notified throughout the whole booking & payment process.

It seemed happy to take my money but fell short of helping rectify this problem when I needed help the most. Lesson learned!!!

Average experience

1. Notifications need to be improved for hosts, an option of a text message would be good as people don’t take much notice of a standard notification. My host wasn’t expecting me even with 15 min warning and their friend was parked in the spot already.

2. The app option of a notification doesn’t explain that your parking will end shortly after that time limit. Send the notification but don’t automatically cancel the parking, unknowingly had my car parked at a place for two days canceled. Was awkward when I picked the car up. Didn’t see the notification until days later and didn’t know if I had accidentally cancelled it or if they had. Explain this feature clearly in the app settings.

3. Allow feedback. Some park descriptions are poor and confusing. Give an opportunity to provide feedback. Some cars may leave an oil stain, allow hosts the option of giving feedback too.

4. Allow messaging to/from hosts and users for unforeseen events or anything, more communication is better than less.
