MetroMart: #1 Grocery Delivery 12+

Good but needs improvement on the availability of products.

I placed my order today and luckily there are available delivery slots for today, and to be delivered just an hour after I placed my order and paid thru my debit card. Yes, the delivery was quick, and my products arrived on time. Thank you. However, upon checking the status of my order in your app before the delivery arrives, there are a lot of “sold out” items in my order but my card was charged with the full amount including those sold out items. So now, I have to check my bank account everyday if changes have been made already for the amount needed to be reimbursed. Metromart app developer, please update your app, communicate and/or coordinate with the stores and put SOLD OUT on the items that are not available so that we will not add them anymore to our cart.

Something’s Not Right

I have ordered through this app countless times since the lockdown began. It has a lot of potential but at the moment, something’s just not right.

On at least two occasions, I ordered items from Deli. About an hour before the scheduled delivery, a shopper called to say that some items were out of stock. I immediately checked the app and those items were still being sold on the app. The shopper insisted they were out of stock, so I said no more. However when I checked hours later, those items were still being sold on the app. I checked the following day, & the day after, & the items were still being sold on the app. Out of curiosity I continued to check the app everyday for about a week & the items that were supposedly out of stock were still being offered to consumers on the app. The exact same thing happened with an order from Rustan’s. Was this a glitch in the system, or was this deliberate?

On several other occasions, a shopper called to say something I ordered from S&R was out of stock. I asked the shopper if another brand was on the shelf, or a similar item, & she said yes. But she also said she could not purchase it because it’s not being offered on the app.

Metro Mart, your shopping fees are steep, and yet shopping through you could be part of the “new normal” if you would just address these very important issues. Hopefully, in the future, I can give you a much better rating than a mere 2 stars.

Needs real time update of stocks

The app has a lot of issue when it comes to real time updates of stocks available. More often than not 30-40% of items offered are no longer available after check out which is the most annoying and inconvenient thing I would’ve gone to another supermarket had I known the essential item was not available after all. Very far cry with my experience with Landers once on the cart it will tell you if the item is no longer available and you can immediately remove it and if it’s essential I have the option to go online shopping elsewhere. When it comes to weight of meat in S&R they offer the heaviest when you know in the actual store there are options to get a smaller portion. Forget about fruits, they will give you dried up grapes or ones with molds. And you pay for shoppers to do that. It’s like they’re trying to get rid of the bad products since you won’t see it until it’s delivered anyway.
